Had a nice stay with my family here. The service was amazing - we got lots of support on various things on our trip, which we really appreciated since we didn't speak Japanese otherwise. We enjoyed the quiet and romantic atmosphere and the meals were good quality.
We were happy with the stay and with the room and staff. As noted by other travelers.. this stay is a little out there.. the town Yamanaka is quaint.. with surprisingly not a lot of places to eat.. and we weren’t that excited about their breakfast menu. If you after an Onsen experience a bit out there.. it’s great.. if you are hoping to explore Ishikawa Prefecture than it will add an extra hour drive time to your stay.
We decided to stay in a traditional room and it was a great experience. The food was a large variety and well presented. The room was cleaned twice a day and the staff was fluent in English. The local area was touristy with lots to do.

The hotel is a bit dated but other than that, the overall experience is good. Staffs are friendly and very welcoming. Wifi is okay and provided inside the hotel area. The room size is good and clean. We had reserved the room with both dinner and breakfast which are of good quality.
The hotel is close to Kukasenkei which is famous in that area. The walk along the Kukasenkei is pleasant and the scenery is good. Despite there are more new hotels built in the main town area, I would still prefer this particular one as it is more quiet and off the traffic.
Ryokan is remotely situated but nice setting and most rooms facing the river . Either you drive Day time to locate the place or arrange for transport . Meals are good and service is attentive.
Warm welcome was received at the reception by an English speaking lady. But the server at restaurant can only speak limited English. The environment was quiet . Just a few minutes walk to a walking trail and river .

Tired room and corridors but lovely restaurant
We paid for the standard room with half board. Our room was a standard Japanese room with Japanese bedding as expected. The bathroom was quite modern and clean but the room felt a little tired and there was dust in the cupboards and corners.
The meals (dinner and breakfast) were very Japanese. That's not a negative thing for most people, the food was well presented and the staff very friendly, just I'm not a fan of raw fish. We hired the family onsen which was lovely.
Overall this was a nice hotel but could do with freshening up the rooms a little. The staff were lovely from meeting you in the car park, giving you a snack and drink on arrival, to the cherry blossom that falls on you when you walk in the hotel.
I was very pleased with the room and private bath. My only gripe is a rather large one. There was a constant buzzing noise that was impossible to drown out. I believe it was coming from the private bath area.
