Well situated in centre of Inverness, compact room has bed access from one side only and overlooking the street it’s noisy at night. Staff were friendly and efficient.
Parking down below across from the river below the hotel was easy to access; hotel itself is central to downtown with easy walk to most things. Lobby claimed 24 hour bar, but not really true, the bar closes and they ask you to sit in the main lobby but you could still get a late night drink. Hotel is a bit dated, rooms (if not on river side) on weekends are LOUD - air is by opening the window so this does not help (no air conditioning). Beds felt more like a cot on wheels than actual bed; NO side table plugs (so if you travel with a CPAP or simply charge on a night table this is an issue). Overall room and hotel was clean, staff (especially front desk) very helpful and friendly but property shows some wear and tear, but I would recommend for Inverness for the price and location.
The towels were not replaced from previous guest. They brought us new ones and said previous guest did not stay. When we came back later we realized the garbage cans were full of trash and the room needed to vacuumed. Very disappointed and when brought it up to the front desk in the morning was instructed to contact expedia for a refund.
Stay was just ok. Room had no air conditioning, no fridge and staff were not overly helpful or friendly. I received an email from hotel 2 days prior to check in asking if I would like to upgrade room for a small extra fee if upgrade was available. I selected yes. On arrival staff had no idea what I was talking about and said the only upgrade they could offer me was for a smaller room.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
It was fine. No air conditioning or fan didn't make sleeping that pleasant. Breakfast was good one morning and not good the next. Location was great for restaurants.
The surly receptionist gave the wrong room. We paid for a double room with a river view—what we were given was a room on the first floor facing an alley—and it was not even a double room. Almost $400 a night and that was beyond unacceptable. My spouse went and spoke to management and they eventually agreed to give us the room that we sought and paid for; a double room with a river view. The check-in experience was the worst I’ve ever experienced in 30+ years of travel. Rude receptionist was taunting me to prove that I purchased the river view room. After we got the correct room the experience at the hotel increased.
Really nice hotel but the street outside was so loud during the night, struggled to sleep. Quality hotel though in every other way and close to the station.
All of the staff were extremely friendly. I am coeliac and I really appreciate the gluten free station for breakfast. There was something to suit everyone for breakfast from fresh fruit to traditional full Scottish/ continental. We also had our evening meal in the hotel and the waiting staff obviously took my dietary requirement seriously and checked with the chef if my choice of meal was safe for me to eat. This is our second stay at the hotel and will return again. The bed was very comfortable. We were on the third floor so there was no noise from the street. Didn’t book a river view as only there for one night. The room was clean with a modern shower/ toilet but would benefit from a bit of an upgrade as the carpet was a bit tired looking. This did not detract from our stay and we will certainly return.
Whilst there was nothing particularly wrong with this stay, it didn't 'Wow' us. Both of us had booked the same standard of room yet friend got significantly larger room including sofa. We had a very small room with no chairs.
Boiler went out on the hot water and heat for a few hours the first day, but they were able to bring it back up quickly. The staff was friendly and the bar/lounge was fantastic.
The property is somewhat dated even after some renovation. The staff were and are amazing. For any shortcomings on the age of the property the staff made up for with service. So worth it!
