We checked in on Friday, we’re taken to our room, after looking around it to our amazement we found the room in very poor condition IE.carpet was old and dirty the skirting boards were covered in dust and dirty ,the radiator had rust on it and behind it the wall was peeling away. The decoration needs to be improved. The furniture was minimal and only one small wardrobe for the two of us. After taking about the situation we decided not to stay which spoiled the start of weekend. In our opinion and seeing our room this hotel should not be open for business.Fortunately we managed to find another hotel tha could accommodate us.

The hotel was a welcone change from the large chain hotels. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and well positioned for site seeing. Also was nice and quiet for working sometimes during the stay

Car parking £6 if available but when I stayed it wasn’t
You can park on the street after 6 pm if spaces are available
Staff very good and very welcoming
Good for the price charged and there is a chippy if you walk towards the harbour or a Wetherspoon just down from the hotel
Excellent value for a budget priced hotel. Spotless facilities, comfortable bedroom, evening entertainment, and the buffet breakfast was exceptionally good.
All the staff we spoke to were friendly and helpful.

HOUSE OF THE HAPPY HEART! VERY TRUE!
The staff without exception from the minute we arrived where happy, helpful, and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room was great and the Breakfast and Dinner were excellent. The reception rooms were bright and cheery.
All in all an ok stay, breakfast was great. Room was small but all ok. Staff were friendly and helpful. Main complaint was that no main bar area open, small lounge open and the staircase on our floor smelt or urine which was very off putting on arrival. At a guess I would say this would be down to the amount of dogs in the hotel on high floors
It is a old style hotel. Our room was fine and what we thought we had booked is what we got. Looks like some updating is taking place. This is not 5 star, so anyone who thinks so and then comments are just putting this hotel down.
