The front desk staff was courteous and helpful when we checked in. But room was not clean, we caught at least three flies in our room. Requested a receipt when I check out and the front desk staff gave me a blank paper because I booked through the third party! Also, they said the hotel shouldn’t give a receipt if people booked through third party after we asked other hotel did provide a receipt. What a ridiculous answer！This hotel is not recommended!

My one-night stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Huntsville, Ontario left much to be desired. This franchised location appears neglected, with little investment in guest room upkeep. The room was dated and poorly maintained. Frayed carpets, visible dust, and flies in the window frame greeted us. Oddly, ethernet cables ran along the floor. I booked a suite expecting a TV area, but found none. I even had to swap a lightbulb to get the sitting area lamp working. Issues extended beyond the room. Hallways smelled musty, with equally worn carpets. It seems recent investments focused on the lobby and dining area, neglecting guest rooms. While serving its basic purpose, the hotel was overpriced for its quality. If other options exist in Huntsville, explore those first. However, it can suffice for a short stay if you're out of choices – just lower your expectations. This Holiday Inn Express urgently needs renovations and better maintenance. Until significant updates occur, it's hard to recommend, especially at its current price point. The property might work for a night if you're stuck, but prepare for dated accommodations and questionable cleanliness.

Make sure you check the toilet drains properly!
The location for the purpose of being close to the Algonquin Park is perfect. The hotel and the rooms are ok, and clean. The breakfast is also fair with limited choices. However, the toilet in our room wasn't draining and it was not a good experience at all!

An excellent, clean, friendly, dependable property. My only issue was that my room was not ready when I arrived at 4:00 PM. They got it ready within 20 minutes, which was a good recovery. I did not dig, but I expect it was staffing related as I arrived in a resort town a couple of weeks after they would have lost any student help.

Property clean but dated. You need a car to get around as hotel outside the town but easy to drive into Huntsville- well worth a visit with nice restaurants. Plenty of free parking in town snd at hotel.

Good, but needs TLC.
Check in was quick and easy, and we also requested late checkout with no issues. Staff were very friendly and kind. Our room could have used some TLC, as things were a bit dated, and there was mold/mildew stains in the shower. A bear was also creating quite the mess in the parking lot with the dumpster— although not the hotels fault. Overall would likely stay here again if they gave the showers a good bleach.
