We were given the worst room in the building. Right at the top of the stairs. Every time people came in or out the door would bang, theyd be struggling with suitcases etc. The room was incredibly hot, a fan was provided, it was very noisy. We opened the window and there were people below just talking at the top of their voices. The room at the top of the stairs is also above the entrance. Then they decided to evict someone from the premises who spent a good 10 minutes screaming her head off. Glad it was only one night. We will never stay there again.

Made a last minute stop in our journey, the idea was to be rested in the morning when we continued our journey. However little did we know how what seemed like a tired ex Travelodge was actually auditioning to be the next Bates Motel. We were tired and could overlook the tired out dated rooms, but the uncomfortable bed, the noise from other guests and the screams in the middle of the night meant that we were not surprised to see a police car outside in the morning. The hopes for rest didn’t happen, with very little sleep the only saving grace was the complimentary breakfast of cereals and toast that you could have in the bar/breakfast room. Needless to say if needing a journey break in the future I would drive a little further to stay somewhere that isn’t this hotel.

Property is easily accessed off of the Southbound A1. There is a fuel station next door and an Indian restaurant, although I did not use either. The property was fairly clean with a bar and a continental breakfast. The staff were friendly. The room wasn't in pristine condition but perfectly fine and clean. I'm a big lad and I did find the shower a tad small. I would definitely stay there again.

First impressions on arrival are of an abandoned petrol station with accomodation and a restaurant in the back. The Redwings is a tired property in need of some refurbishment and updating. The room was tired like the rest of the building but clean. Staff were friendly. Have been trying a few places along A14/A1 and wouldn't rule out using again, but if you can book early, other chains offer slightly better accomodation amd facilities.

Avoid if you want a decent shower

Shower was awful. No water or pressure coming through. If it wasn’t for that I would stay again as the service was good but left feeling dirty.

It was easy to find and our receptionist was very cheerful and helpful. The free breakfast, (continental style, but with toast ) was excellent and plentiful. The room was neat and tidy and very good value. Car parking was within very easy reach of reception and plenty of it. There was only one blot on the horizon, and that was the fact that we were kept awake by loud music from the bar on the first night of our stay. At 2.30 in the morning my wife phone the reception to complain ,only to have the phone put down on her. It took a visit to reception to stop the music which was entertaining late night drinkers in the bar. This was reported to the receptionist in the morning. This spoilt an otherwise very pleasant stay.
