Booking in was ok but we were not told to register our car to park. We remembered1 hour later as we had stayed before. The steps leading to upstairs rooms were covered in autumn leaves and puddles of water leaking from above pipes making walking very, very dangerous. Comment from reception "Yes, we know. That's why there are 2 signs there"!! Better response from a different person when checking out next day was that contractors were due that morning. Overall, bedroom was ok, facilities ok.
I’ve stayed here previously, but not again. You should be honest about who is staying there long term. This is becoming a doss house for weed smokers and alcoholics. The smell of dope some nights was something else! Clearly no one cares about the appearance of the place and your plan to charge residents for parking is laughable. The game is up. This place is a hostel these days. I’ll never stay here again. It’s sad as Hull is where I was born & raised. Very poor!
Beds are awful, hard springs sticking into you, never slept properly, got up aching and stiff. If the beds are knackered and you get no sleep, what is your purpose?

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Buildings need a lick of paint and better access into the hotel grounds.
On arrival the reception staff was rude as I didn't have i.d for my husband which had been discussed with the manager a week before our visit and he had it wasn't an issue. There is also going to be a charge for parking onsite which I do not feel is right considering we have paid to stay there and car park was not secure.
Limescale on the bathroom taps but no big deal
This is a very tired property, very dated. Carpets and curtains are threadbare and the mattress was so uncomfortable, you could feel the springs, it was the worst I've ever slept in. Everytime we rolled over it was like playing the xylophone!
The only good things were, Linen and towels were clean, staff friendly and free parking.
Definitely wouldn't stay here again.
Although the buildings look run down, our room was surprisingly comfortable albeit small and very basic and seems to have been recently redecorated. With blackout curtains and some sort of soundproofing we were not affected by the busy location although we were at the back. Hot water was plentiful and there was a controlled heater if required. Sachets of tea/coffee/milk were limited by willingly topped up on request. There is no restaurant as such but you could order a breakfast panini or a basic pizza later - however there are several places to eat only 10 minutes walk away in the centre of Hull, where there are also numerous excellent museums. Onsite parking is free, which makes the property even better value
