Unless you‘re desperate, best to avoid this property. I booked a double room, but was given a room with a bed AND a bunk bed crammed together (which made opening a closet almost impossible). When I said I hadn‘t asked for a bunk bed, the desk clerk replied, well, we‘re not *charging* you for it. There was no record that I had booked breakfast - the desk clerk had to contact Expedia to confirm - and the key I was given didn‘t work. The facilities are a bit worn and shabby, and the rooms are utilitarian at best. There is no AC, and when the windows are open it‘s quite noisy, as the building is right on a busy motorway. The breakfast is mediocre at best - better to grab something more edible at the airport. While there is a shuttle to the airport (12 quid) the website doesn‘t mention that it only leaves once on the hour (and for whatever reason, Uber refuses to do pickups from this spot). That having been said, the rooms were clean, and the lady driving the shuttle was absolutely lovely.

We stayed for the shuttle for one night for proximity to the airport. The woman working made a few comments about how early we needed to leave. But the guy who ran the shuttle to the airport at 4 am was kind and helpful. I’m allergic to dust and the amount of dust in the room was horrible. It was visible. The carpets were dirty. The bedspread and sheets were dirty. A lot of hair on them. We were scared to even put our bags on anything or sleep there. And it was very cold. No sort of heating that we saw.

I liked my stay there. Only problem i had was that it was cold. I had to ask for the heating to be switched on. But by morning it was off again. The staff also left the outside door open right by the room I was in, which didn't help. Food was excellent and the staff were helpful.

Very disappointed in the service. Perhaps being American I didn't get the same treatment as a local, but I was eating dinner and ordered a beer from the bartender who had served me previously. After 15 minutes of waiting and still no beer, I found him and asked him if he had my drink. He informed me he didn't and was going to the airport to pick up another guest that he didn't want to keep waiting (who was presumably more important than me??) He left, leaving me to finish my meal and wonder about getting another beer. Finally a woman came by and asked if I needed anything but by then I was finished eating and was tired from flying all day and only wanted to go to bed. Not what I expected, I wouldn't recommend them.

I chose The Corner House Hotel in Horley after discovering they had one single room left going for £79.00 for one night (I stayed from 31st August to September 1st 2024). The Corner House Hotel is an incredibly friendly family-run hotel situated on Massetts Road, Horley, and is a mere 10 minutes walk from Horley train station (one stop before Gatwick!) as well as the shops in the centre of the village. The single room has all the basic amenities including a single bed, en-suite bathroom and shower, television, and a desk and chair. I chose to have dinner at the hotel and it was very tasty, locally sourced and reasonably priced. They have a breakfast, dinner and drinks menu as well as a snack bar onsite. The hotel also provides a dedicate minibus service taking passengers to and from Gatwick Airport North and South terminals, however I took the train from Horley to Gatwick Airport Station on the day of my flight. I would highly recommend anyone using Gatwick Airport to choose the Corner House Hotel if you are looking for an affordable place to crash for the night. The quiet location and general cleanliness of the place also make for a relaxing stay! Thank you to the Corner House team for making my stay relaxing and pleasant! Kind regards, Idris

Amazing from start to finish i arrived to hotel after 10pm as flying from canada had a few bad problems getting back to England. Then transport was slow even though hotel a 5 mins drive from airport. When i got there lady at desk very kind and helpful even made me some chips . Had walk across road to get to room that looked like a chalet type. Horley town was just 15 mins walk so a great win win all round. Definately recommend hotel and is so easy to get to from south terminal.

Clean small single room with shower was good for 1 night rest before going to Gatwick. Staff lovely and helpful. The parking is very tight and when booking was not told you had to pay for the parking. This needs to be transparent when making a booking. It's only an extra £10 but an extra cost none the less. Apart from that all good.

The only thing i didnt like was myself for not realisinf they did food until i ordered out and then fpund the menu! (Id travelled a long way this was a lay away) staff are 10* was a lively stay just for the night to recharge, cannot fault it. I bet the food would ha e been amazing too.
