We had a bumpy start here but our stay and experience was turned around after dealing with the hotel manager Angelica. Her quick and swift response to our situation was greatly appreciated. She was able to rectify the situation and turn the experience to a really great one for us. The hotel was clean and was in a good location. The cafe wasn’t the greatest for us at breakfast but when we went during happy hour, the drinks were quite good. It’s in a central location, close to the beach and in the heart of the shopping district. The parking is quite pricey and there was a bit of confusion with the wording of the Expedia deal but management could also see that the wording wasn’t super clear and this was feedback that should be passed onto Expedia. Overall I would recommend the hotel, despite our hiccups at the start, I felt Angelica’s quick response was a great turning point for us. Her understanding and commitment to making the situation better was a testament to her position and the value she adds to the business. Thankyou again for making our stay a good one.

The staff at the front desk were aloof and distant. Some of them couldn't put on a smile. We also got put in two rooms on the second floor by the elevator. It's hard to imagine that all their other rooms are full. The pool is also very small. Overall, the location was okay but our experience wasn't great.

The rooms are starting to see its age, especially the carpet but overall comfortable nonetheless. The price of parking is steep so if you don’t need a car, I’d say skip it. Although I do want to note the valet staff were very friendly and efficient. We needed a car since we have young kids that need car seats but otherwise this location can’t be beat if you’re sticking around Waikiki. Another downside is the location of the elevator street exit - you have to pass by the alley and it stinks. This can be avoided taking the elevator to the lobby then the escalator down to the front but unfortunately for us we had a stroller/wagon with us everyday so that was not an option. Our favorite part was the pool area. Although small we didn’t have any problem finding a space and the pool itself never felt too crowded. I appreciated that the pool was adjacent to the hotel cafe so we could order food and drinks while lounging around. The cafe is also very reasonably priced at least for Waikiki and the food/drinks (we got pizza, croissant sandwich, pina colada and iced coffee) were better than I expected to find within a hotel. Overall we enjoyed our stay and we would likely return here.

We had a wonderful stay at the Beachcomber. Perfectly located for all of the various things around Waikiki. The rooms were clean and we had a great view of the ocean. Hotel staff was super friendly especially Angie the housekeeper for our floor. She was so kind my kids would light up everyday when they saw her. I'd recommend the Beachcomber for any families looking for a great place to stay in Waikiki
