Tried to stay here one time. The amount of huge dogs barking and the smell of urine on the elevator and third floor should have stopped me. We went to the room and found it not clean. I tried to get a refund and was denied. Management explained that when I signed the check in paperwork I agreed to no refunds. Live and learn I guess.

Average cheap-ish hotel. Room wasn’t vacuumed when we got there. Trash on the floor. Duct tape holding the smoke alarm together. One light didn’t work. But the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was very basic.

Stay a few nights for our son’s wedding. The hotel was conveniently located and the price was very reasonable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this place.

The key cards would not work and we had to change rooms because of that. The second room we had to get the keys reflashed every night...the breakfast was terrible, they ran out of condiments, paper products everyday. One cofee machine that would go out of service by 8am .. one waffle maker that takes a long time to make one waffle...for $200 a night spend your money somewhere else.

Average overall. Staff were nice and it was fairly quiet during our stay. However, the bathroom was pretty dingy and the bathtub had mildew in it. There were cob webs along the tops of the walls and the room overall was a little dingy. It was continently located near a Meijer, which was helpful.

We booked a Suite only to get there and they told us it wasn’t available! The room we were given was dirty and felt moist on the carpet/musty! Bathroom fan didn’t work so the fire alarm would go off every time we got out of the shower. The bathroom had paint chipping off the walls. Head boards were dusty and I had to dust them myself. Handle fell off the shower Sink was cracked Keys stopped working to get into the room Coffee machine was broke during breakfast. Orange justice also didn’t work One waffle maker which created a big wait line. Was told Breakfast ended at 9am which I have never heard of such a thing with a hotel, most go until at least 10am Will not stay there again.

The rooms were filthy. Walls had cracks, carpet was dingy and had a smell to it. The bathroom walls had cracks and mold and tub was discolored. The furniture also had parts broken off. The coffee maker was broken for breakfast. They only served eggs, sausage, and bagels for breakfast. Not even cream cheese for the bagels. Not what we expected, and would never stay here or recommend it to anyone. The only good thing was the staff being friendly and the location was convenient

Check in was delayed for a hour due to computer issues they blamed on hotels.com booking. Carpet in my room was sopping wet from air conditioner draining on floor and they had no other room to offer as placed was booked. continental breakfast consisted of a single waffle machine for 30+ angry guests. Coffee machine was broken along with juice machine absolutely pitiful. I travel all the time this was terrible for a decent hotels.com rating

Pay more for a brand name hotel
There was mold all around the shower, the sink had almost no counter space, and was positioned in the corner where it was hard to use the corner mirror. The K-cup coffee machine was a disaster, putting most of the grounds from the cup in the coffee and clogging up the machine with each use that had to be laboriously cleaned. The "Free" breakfast sucked. The TV did not work at first and had to be reset. I would never go back. The staff knew the place was a disaster and with every interaction, they proclaimed they were under remodeling and everything would be great in a few years! Well, we are here now!

Room was just ok. Furniture in suite needs replaced. Nice having an interior and exterior doors. Pool and hot tub were nice. Breakfast was not good and needs more attentive staff during busy breakfast hours.

Check in was quick, the woman at the front desk was very helpful with activities in the area. Room was clean and comfortable. My kids enjoyed the pool and I really enjoyed the hot tub. The breakfast was good as well, not the best I’ve seen, but they had waffles and that’s all that mattered to my kids. Overall we had a great stay!!! Would definitely stay again if coming back to the area.

Breakfast was supposed to run until 9am, we arrived around 8:30am and just about everything was GONE. Hot eggs and breakfast meats were gone, milk for cereal was gone, no fruit, very little plain white bread (no bagels left), and the only thing left in the fridge was Trix yogurt cups - but there weren’t even any spoons left to eat the yogurt. I was highly disappointed by this. I understand breakfast ends at 9, but that means breakfast continues until 9… not everything runs out 30 minutes early and nothing is refilled. Other than that, the stay was average. Decently clean rooms. Our bathroom smelled musty. Nothing extraordinary. I would stay again for the price, but I would look for availability elsewhere first.

Our first room (room 225) smelled so bad of mold mildew and past cigarette use. My wife and I toughed it out for the first night because we got in at like 7:00pm. Breathing was hard and we both woke up with our nose congested due to the mold inhalation all night. We complained the next day and the manager on duty moved us to the room across the hall. Much better! But not perfect. There's definitely wear on the building and updating needed but I'm assuming since larger hotel chains have moved into the area White Pines is hurting. We rated it 2 stars because no comp was offered or given for the horrendous mold smell of the first room. We did appreciate getting moved though (as they should have). Pool had a film on the top so we didn't use it and emergency lights weren't working (I work for a fire protection company and I tested a couple as we walked by them, they probably just need new batteries).
