Sustainable Lodging.
The hotel offers a sustainable option for travelers who are concerned about reducing their carbon footprint. I love the idea, however beware that there is no elevator, so be prepared to log the luggage if you want a third floor room.

We had a great time staying at SCP Hilo Hotel. Such a friendly staff and very professional. Because it is near the intersection you can still hear the traffic but overall it was a very excellent experience. 11/10

Loved the view, easy to get to, and great comforts other hotels don’t offer. Paddle boards, umbrellas, and bikes to ride around town. Everyone at the front desk was always helpful. The evening events in the lobby were wonderful.

The hotel is basic but comfortable. Staff were friendly and check in/out was easy. The bathroom was TINY but since I was alone it worked. If you’re looking for home comforts this isn’t the place for you. There was no TV and no power plug near the bed. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the AC did the job.

Unfortunately, the area has declined in recent years. I didn’t feel safe walking around at night. The property cannot do anything about it but they can advocate to the city to revamp the area.
