The bar and restaurant staff were great. Especially Scott. Having to pay to valet when there was plenty of parking was annoying. They also put us in a room down a narrow hallway with the laundry and house keeping. At check in it was made clear they don’t appreciate third party app bookings. Maybe that’s why our shower only worked halfway, the bathroom door fell apart and the bottles attached to the wall in the shower started falling off at 3am. For the money I paid, I expected a nicer room. The beds were comfortable, so that’s a positive

Beautiful property but would have been nice to know that our suite was under renovations as this was our honeymoon. We got the king suite with the wrap around balcony, it wasn't cheap. Zero pictures on the wall and the front desk lady didn't seem to care. The restaurant downstairs had good service if you got the right server otherwise you sat there forever with nobody came- happened a few times. Lobby bar had excellent service.

Like the “bonus” items they provided - 2 bottles of water, cocktail vouchers and a free round of 9 hole golf across the street. The entire hotel is white. Outside, hallways and rooms. Could use some color. Had a restaurant change show up on our bill for the morning we left - we never ate at their restaurant and it was north of $140. We are in the dispute stage right now. It hit our credit card after the hotel bill was presented to us and was not on the printout or we would have had a face-to-face to get this resolved.

It’s a great location, but perhaps the bay front has caused some deferred maintenance on exterior? Staff is great, and everyone is very friendly. Good restaurant in hotel, walkable location. Valet parking fee is required along with a resort fee that adds to overall cost significantly, would be nice to have an option to park yourself and come/go at your leisure. Our room was a corner with oceanview, and the reason we came back. Condition of room was good, but stain on carpet, counters, no artwork (letter left about ongoing project to update) but made the room very bare and white. We love Hilo and this location, but the hotel is in need of exterior maintenance, updating, and artwork in the rooms.
