We liked how the staff was fast and professional checking in and out of our hotel. What we didn’t like was we found some bugs in our hotel room and my daughter’s blanket was dirty and the toilet paper holder did not not hold the paper and it kept on falling down.

You had to go to the laundry room to get towels for the pool. The staff would take breaks on the 2nd floor overlooking the pool, so you had cigarette smoke and people watching you while you swam or laid out.

It was not stated anywhere, and we were not alerted that they don’t do the rooms for stays below 4 days. However, they did give us a fresh set of towels and toiletries when we complained.

While on a stay there on October 6, 2024, there was a group of registered or non registered guest at the pool with their own coolers drinking green bottle alcohol beverages. At night kids running and making noise through the hallways late at night. Other than that it’s a good hotel. Love the ocean view.

Restful sleep but dont expect much -free breakfast
Big rooms and bathroom. Love the bed and linens, allow me to sleep well during our one night stay prior to a morning flight. The free breakfast included has no protein. Just coffee, juice and small pieces of bread.

Good enough for a couple days
This Hotel is quite old, it needs an update. The rooms were huge, but had very little furniture so it was mostly empty. It had some really old wallpaper from the 90s or older and it was starting to peel in most corners. It looked and felt old. On the other side, it was clean, I wiped my finger on the furniture and there was little to no dust on either the desk or the bed frame. The bed was comfy enough, I've slept on worse. The shower had good pressure and the towels were pretty soft and clean. We had a great view of coconut island, which was fun to wake up and see every morning. The breakfast was a joke, it was a pot of oatmeal and bread. We got it for free with our room, but there was a fee if you did want it. We ate it the first day then skipped it the rest. Food was centered around the expensive steak house that was inside the hotel, so if you wanted a breakfast buffet, it would set you back even more. The location was great, 10 minutes from the Airport & Seaport; about 5 minutes away from downtown Hilo. Parking was free and pretty full on the weekend, but had plenty of parking during the week in their garage. I think if they invested in some new furniture and paint, this place would truly earn it's title of best place in Hilo, that they've won for like the last 5 years. Compared to other hotels in the area, I have no idea, so the others could be a lot worse.
