This hotel was an absolute colonial beauty and I have been coming here for the last 15 years. They went to great lengths to decorate the lobby for El Día de los Muertos and it was as quite a joy to arrive to see that. Needs improvement: Perhaps they changed ownership but there has been a decline in the condition of the property. They need to replace the old bedroom furniture or maybe use furniture polish/paint to hide the imperfections. All upholstered furniture needs a major steam cleaning as well. The linens were top quality but the pillows and beds were very hard thus causing me to have extra back pain. The cleaning ladies do the best they can but they are in such a hurry that cleaning is done quite superficially. They also don’t follow instructions when you ask for a certain number of towels or blanket replacements. Our extra blankets smelled old/dirty and it took about two days for them to bring fresh ones because there was always some excuse about “requesting it from the laundry room”. The hotel must hire more cleaning & maintenance crews to not let it fall thru the cracks. There are too many little maintenance issues that were done half-heartedly (paint, caulking, somewhat exposed wiring, etc.) it’s a pity because it chips away at the grandeur the of the hotel. I really hope they step up their game because I want to continue coming back here like always.

Loved the hacienda style of the hotel. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Very nicely decorated for Día De los Muertos. We'll definitely return. Walking distance to the Cathedral.

We had 5 rooms for 10 seniors booked at Hotel Morales for 5 nights. Hotel Morales, you did not disappoint! Beautifully appointed rooms ( ask for a balcony) room 216 and 217 have 2 balconies each, just saying. The rooms were spotless and our dining experience was fabulous. The breakfast is incredible. Javier, Felipe and ALL the dining staff- great job. Special shout-out to Veronica from house keeping. She always has a big smile and worked tirelessly looking after rooms. The Day of the Dead decorations were amazing.
