Guests driving to the property should be aware of seasonal road closures. Hwy 120 (Tioga Pass) closes October through late summer, restricting east-to-west travel across the park. Yosemite's eastern gate and Tuolumne Meadows are not accessible when Tioga Pass is closed. Guests are advised to check local weather and road conditions/closures with the California Department of Transportation before travel.

Hotel Charlotte is a historic hotel with lots of old-world charm and associated character. It is centrally located in Groveland and is a perfect launching point for a day in Yosemite Valley. The proprietor is extremely welcoming and very knowledgeable about the area.

Old town hotel

We had a warm welcome at the desk and got lots of info for our visit to Yosemite the next day. Appreciated using the communal refrigerator in the lobby and having our microwave supper there as well. Comfortable room and king bed. Fun to wander around the old town and enjoy a drink and snack in the very western bar across the street.

Great location- about 30 minutes from Yosemite- Staff was very good at questions about the park. Room was very spacious and clean. Bed was super comfortable. Our only criticism is that I wish you would put an ice machine in. We just need a little bit of ice for a cooler and did not want to buy a big bag at the convenience store. Do appreciate the fact you have a refrigerator for all guests to use but stuff does not say cool all day long without ice. Thanks again!
