The hotel cannot be described in any shape or form as attractive, unless you really really like concrete boxes. However, the interior is good enough to make you forget the exterior. The staff are friendly and attentive. We had a great stay. However, full points not awarded due to the bar not selling prosecco by the glass (how hard can it be to open a bottle, charge £8 - £10 for a glass then anything sold after that is profit?!) and when standing at the bar, I couldn't move away as my foot was stuck to the floor due to stickiness! We recommend paying a bit more to get a room with a balcony (if it's nice weather!). The food from the restaurant is lovely but can't comment on the breakfast as we didn't have any.

A nice hotel that is sensibly priced. Perfect for short stays when in the Grimsby area. The restaurant is good and the breakfast is verging towards excellent, but could be improved by the addition of smoked haddock with poached eggs, as well as kippers, to the menu.

Hotel is an excellent example of UK economy part of G7 countries but gloomy and broken state of affairs Hotel is in great need of renovation, room sizes are good however the rooms, furniture, building are from medieval times; squeaky, not comfortable chairs, room amenities are minimal; breakfast has very limited continental option and some staff is not just not welcoming, no smile just a grumpy face

I stay here regularly and find it very comfortable and clean with friendly, helpful staff. NB no dinners are served on Sunday evenings and no room service either. I had to leave the hotel to find an evening meal on Sunday.

Fine, good value for money

Clean, tidy, comfortable bed. Bathroom a little dated but fine. Balcony and view of the golf course were lovely unexpected perks.

This used to be the best hotel in Grimsby during the 1970s/80s. To be honest it still is very good, especially for the price. The outside would benefit from a lick of paint, but the staff are attentive, polite and helpful, the breakfast is very good with plenty of choice, although kippers and smoked haddock would absolutely smash it. I also enjoyed dinner here, which was very nice. The rooms are large enough, nicely decorated and comfortable, with nice views over the golf course. I will be staying here again.

Dont let the outside put you off.

I have stayed at the HR many times and keep returning, whilst im on business. The outside needs a facelift fir certain but the rooms and staff are very good, with hiews of the golf course. Great value.
