Under Renovation…

This was a trip that occurred over graduation weekend and Mother’s Day…so had to pay a much higher price…understandable but not really worth it. The hotel is currently undergoing renovation. Although some areas were completed, my room was not done yet. Though relatively clean, there were rust stains in the bathtub. And the pool was not usable with all the debris in it. HOWEVER, the front desk crew over the weekend were all very nice. I also appreciate the effort that was put into the gift bags in honor of graduation ceremonies.

In the middle of a renovation (that wasn't disclosed), the lobby was a mess, breakfast was in the conference room, and there was a middle of the night fire alarm that was a byproduct of all of the construction. Not the best stay.

Hotel was close to university so easy to get to campus for visit. Unfortunately it was being remodeled, so a little clunky and the room we had clearly had a smoker in it prior to our stay as it still had a nicotine aroma. I didn't bother to try and switch rooms as we didn't stay long.

The hotel is under renovations (not advertised when booking) so it was a mess. We booked a double room and got a king. First night we had an ice cold shower. When I brought this to front desk attention they just said “oh yeah due to the renovations you might have to run the water for 10-15 minutes first”. We did get changed to a different room the second night and that shower didn’t drain. We were right across from the elevator and woken due to the constant noise. Front desk offered me IHG points (not interested). I almost always stay at a Holiday Inn Express and this was the worst one.

Wasnt notified anywhere on the site or Expedia that this hotel is under constriction. The toilet was broken, the phone dodnt work and the door was broken and open when I arrived. Front desk and manager stated they would move me to another room when o came back from my conference. No one passed on the information to the next shift. The next shift was barely able to find me another room. In the end, they did comp me for the second night.
