Beautiful lakeside setting one side, busy road the other (which you can hear but isnt too bad to watch tv/sleep).
Decent size bathroom, hot water and good pressure.
Decent size twin room with lots of counter space. Tiny tv but lots of channels. Good heating with fast results, plus a ceiling fan for summer is brilliant. Lots of electric sockets and 2 x usb ports.
Beds were comfortable. The pillows were awful! One was lumpy, one hard, one thin which was the only negative for our sleep.
Late checkout 11am allowed for spare time to go feed the ducks on the lake.
Tea and coffee provided, but very small mugs (why dont hotels provide normal size mugs for Tea?!).
Clean, tidy and presentable throughout room, reception, grounds, bar, lounge, restaurant. A lot of areas being decorated (Feb 2025).
VERY DOG FRIENDLY & WELCOMING. Given a dog pack with a treat, map and poo bag. They even do afternoon dog tea which is lovely. Dogs allowed throughout the bar and lounge all day/night. You have a separate seating area for them to accompany you for breakfast. They offer a bowl of water.
They ask does your dog want a bowl.
VERY DISABLED FRIENDLY with friendly stairs, lifts, ramps, electric doors and parking.
All staff, including the decorators and building staff, were lovely. Very friendly, kind, and polite.
Cooked English breakfast included in the price was a very good deal indeed. The ONLY negative was being luke warm, not hot.
