Tucked amongst the trees
We loved this place tucked in among the trees. There is a nice creek running on the property. They are dog friendly which was a plus for us. Our room was roomy too.

This is a budget friendly option in Nevada City and it is only half a mile to downtown. We stayed here for 2 nights and since we were out of the hotel mostly this place met our needs. The bed was comfortable and the shower pressure was great.

We arrived about 30 minutes ahead of check in. Never in my life have I been told that a hotel would have to charge me $25.00 extra dollars for a check in at 30 minutes before. Come on really ? That was really disappointing. In fact. So much so , that as other people were showing up in the parking lot, we warned them what to expect. Each guest came out with amazement that , this was indeed , the case. Ridiculous, especially considering, we had no idea what awaited us once we got inside our room. NO soap to wash with , coffee maker you had to hit over and over again to make to button work, no extra blanket, and it was COLD, also the toilet had a problem flushing. My mom and I were really disappointed. We we’re staying in town for «  Victorian Christmas «  event in town. Hope the owners can make it up to us. Oh! And when I asked about my pre paid check in , the next helper NEVER could tell me I had already PAID for the room. I did not like her abrupt response to me as I asked for it. She told my deposit ( eye roll 🙄) because she basically acted as though I never paid. I paid a month ahead so I didn’t have to deal with the check out as I always do to at other hotels I’ve been to over the years. It was weird. So weird!

Very pretty wooded property. Spead out and quiet. The exact opposite of a big city chain hotel. We walked the grounds and went to the very picturesque downtown and were never crowded.

The property is run down, flooring was cracked and lifting. The shower knob where loose on the wall and hard to use. The restaurant has been closed since October due to funding and not sure when it will reopen. Having a restaurant on site is one reason we picked the hotel. We will not be back.

The whole night, the room smelled like weed and cigarettes. I left with a huge migraine. They didn’t turn on the outside light of the building until I called the front. My friend had to get another room because the bathroom was flooded. They are in the middle of renovation and the front staff was kind. I think they will get better in time but for now, you get what you paid for. The waterfall on the property awarded them a star on my books.

It is a lovely area and the two towns of Nevada city and grass Valley are so fun to visit. The three people that we met at the check-in desk were so kind and full of great idea ideas of where to eat in the area and how to get to the evening Christmas market. This is definitely a dog lovers hotel. Unfortunately, our room although spacious reeked of dog smells.

Very nice place very clean. The Internet was terrible. And the restaurant that was advertised as being open was not open, they plan on opening it next year. overall, very nice place to stay.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. And the price was very good. This is an older motel and it's really showing it's age. If you're not looking for glam, this place is great. But the rooms need a serious facelift. The HVAC unit was on heat and it was also quite noisy all night.

Check-in staff was pleasant and friendly. Cabin room was very outdated. Sofa was very worn and grungy. Bed was horrible. Cabin was freezing! Wall heater took many hours to warm up the place and throughly the night. Bathroom was worn looking.

Dirty and filthy vomit on carpet dried. The room smelled bad blinds broken furniture had tears and holes. It reeked of cigarette smoke. Restaurant was closed permanently. Mattress needs replaced. Upgrades needed badly. We found another hotel for our second night. Will not be going back. The scenery was the only good thing about this hotel.
