I had a very weird experience. I got to the property just before two coaches came in. I checked in around 7pm. I was told i needed to eat at 715pm. Whereas I had called earlier to make sure i could get food till later due to time change. The lady over the phone told me restaurant will be open till about 830pm. I felt really rushed and unhappy. I had had a very long journey. I couldnt even freshen up had to rush to eat the food.
However, the wait staff was amazing. The lady in the morning at the check out was amazing but the gentleman who checked me in. I even smiled at him or said hi, he seemed very unhappy and didnt seem happy to be there. So overall I would give this experience a 3.8/5.
Amazing stay beautiful building. Very comfy beds. Food was lovely and staff were just smashing everyone so helpful reception was brill when we checked in. Bar man helpful. And a special thanks to Lauren who gave us very helpful tips and a good laugh
Love the place I was with my folks who are in there 80s and they adored it
Thanks to all of you xx

Cheap & Cheerful, Very Clean but Noisy!
Lovely hotel for the money overall, the cleanliness i was very impressed with for how old the hotel is!
The receptionist was lovely on check in!
The room was big for the money, very clean only two issues was the lightswitch needs attending to as it's broken and unsafe as our toddler nearly popped finger in the electricity hole. It was noisy also, think this due to age of property though as you could hear everyone and everything.
We got a good night sleep overall thou.
Would recommend for a cheap break!

The place looks nice from the outside. However the room itself was very noisy and the bed linnen were incredibly dusty. We booked a twin bed but received a double bed. I asked for an extra blanket instead, and the receptionist handed me a double blanket, folded in a single cover, which didn't look clean and was very dusty. The floor was incredibly squeeky so we felt sorry for the downstairs guests. We struggled throughout the night with the dust as well as the rest of the day.
It was nice, the parking was a little small but overall good hotel.

A decent hotel for the price
Hotel was very clean but the room we had (202) was very dated, I assume because it was a pet friendly room. The worst thing was the shower, little pressure and was either cold or scalding hot with no in-between.
Breakfast was nice with a choice of hot food and continental style with fruit juices and hot drinks.
Wi-Fi was ok for browsing in the room but a stronger signal in the lobby.
Parking is a little tricky if you arrive late and the hotel is busy but there is space on the road to park if needed.
Very dated and in need of renovation. Quite expensive for what you get in my view. Dirt on carpets, black mould on shower head. Broken button on shower looked dodgy

Staff were really nice. Place looks lovely. Room was okay although needed a freshen up. TV was very small. Breakfast was excellent. Overall a nice stay.
Staff great. Breakfast first rate. Common areas clean and up to date. Room was slightly damp but clean.

A lovely hotel that could use some TLC.
The hotel looks delightful from the outside and has some great character within. The room that we had was a little weathered and the bathroom could do with a facelift.
On our second day of our stay, we were woken up at 7am with what can only be described as the sounds you would expect on a worksite. Drilling, cutting and banging. I assume they were working on the roof and unfortunately, this lasted all day. A heads up from reception or a room move would have been appreciated.
The location of the hotel is perfect. Just a short walk into the wonderful Grantown-on-spey.
We didn't eat at the hotel so I cannot comment on the food.
very shabby overall...curtsins falli g spaet in main areas...checkin/out staff barelt spoke to us...wouldn't let us check-in before 3pm...we dudn't want yo go to the room, merely get our key so we could leave oremises....absolutely not!
Weekend trip with family for Whisky tasting. Hotel in great location and village was good. Hotel is very ‘tired’ our rooms needed an update. Beds not very comfortable. Lots of noise. Was a great price though so might be reflected in what we got. Lounge and dinning area were fairly comfortable. Breakfast not a good deal for £15. Very limited choices. Fine if you want a basic fry up the staff were friendly and helpful.
There is no television in my room when I arrived. Staff did sort this however when they did sort it, they neglected to lock my room with some of my things in the room while I was out for dinner. Room was close to lobby and considerably more noisy than my last stay. Staff did arrange for
Poached eggs however plates of sausage and bacon were cold by 7:30

Stayed for one night and there is no way I’ll be staying going back there again. I was initially given a very old and smelly room, window almost fell off, very worn out furniture. I had to reiterate my request for a non smoking room and the room was changed with no apology.
The hotel needs a lot of renovation.
