we did not get the room that we booked we wanted a room with a patio on the mtn side looking at the leaves. this is what we booked. when we got there they said that yes that is what we booked but we are sorry but we are full up and the room you are getting is the last one they had to of given our room to someone else. we have stayed there many time and have had the mtn view after a day of hiking we would sit on the patio for cocktails. I dont know if we are due any refund. thank you for listening

We’ve stayed at several hotels and resorts on the north shore and this is our absolute favorite. We can’t wait for Papa Charlie’s to reopen, and look forward to more stays in the future.

Property was extremely dirty the moment we walked in the smell of bleach was overwhelming we had to open up both windows. Dead flies on the blinds that have been swatted. Mattress was the most uncomfortable bed ever, Sunk in the middle so bad (I’m a small female 130 lbs) Extremely overpriced for this motel type place.

I have never been so disgusted with the customer service as I was at this lodge. I booked my lodge in August for September stay. I received 2 emails several days before my stay. One said contact within 24 hours, due to an issue with payment. An HOUR later there was an email that said we’re sorry to hear you canceled your stay…. I do NOT. When I called that night, as soon a I saw this (two different times) both gentleman were of no help. One said it will be fine, the other didn’t want to give me the direct number and managers name for my follow up call in the morning. Totally apathetic to the fact I would be out of a place to stay, or that the two emails didn’t make sense coming an hour within each other. When I called the next day, the manager (different from who they told me) was apathetic as well. She said they’d been calling me since July because of the problem. I had received NO CALLS, NO OTHER EMAILS, and I booked in AUGUST!! Since then, I’ve heard the lodge is pretty old and run down. I would avoid. I DID however have a wonderful stay at Carribou Highlands Lodge due. The road and would highly recommend! Great customer service, advice on where to hike/check out Northern Lights, etc AND even ran out to catch our car with a bottle of wine, hearing I was there for my 50th birthday! …unaware of anything I’d been through with the other lodge.

The room was clean. Pretty basic. I was worried the bed was going to be horrible because it was thin, but it ended up being fine. The property is spaced out. There was no folder in the room with local info. It is in an isolated part of the state it would be nice if there was info on what was open and not open. Specifically we were looking for food. Nothing was open at the resort on our arrival…7pm. You have to walk or drive to the pool building.
