There was no heating or hot water in our room. We were told to wait up to 3 hours for it to work. After 2 hours, we were freezing (still had our coats on) were unable to have a shower and wanted to get ready to go out for the evening. There was a draft coming through the bottom of the window. The staff were very unhelpful and said we just needed to wait for it all to heat up. It didn’t heat up. So we checked out and booked into a different hotel.

Great Budget Option in Glasgow

We were only staying in Glasgow for one evening and this perfectly met our needs. The city center is easily reachable on foot and the hotel is located in the Quay, which contains a number of restaurants, a casino, bowling alley and a move theater. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly and the internet connection was good.

All good, only disappointing thing was the breakfast, for £8.50 I expect some elements of a cooked breakfast, I would stay again but I wouldn't get bed and breakfast.

Nice enough

Very basic but it has everyrthing you need. Clean and comfortable. One of the lifts was out of order which was a bit of a pain, but hopefully thatll be fixed soon

Value for money

It must be remembered that this is a budget hotel and there are no frills. But it was only £42 for the night for two of us plus an extra £8.50 each for a very good continental breakfast which included baked beans, cold meat and cheese as well as fresh fr, yoghurt and cereal plus various pastries. The room very basic with only a few coat hangers for clothing and no tea or coffee but had a tv and the single beds were very comfortable. Not the sort of place to stay more than overnight as no lounge, only the breakfast area but, for what we needed it was good value for money and lots of eateries within walking distance.

The hotel room was clean and had all the basics needed for a short stay. Check-in was smooth, and the staff were polite. However, the bed was incredibly uncomfortable—hard as a plank of wood—which made it nearly impossible to get a good night’s sleep. If you prefer a very firm mattress, this might not be an issue, but for me, it really affected my sleep. Everything else was fine, but a comfortable bed is key for a hotel room, so unfortunately, I wouldn’t stay again unless the bed situation improves.

Not great

The room was very clean and tidy..downside was there was no heating in the room so both me and my partner slept with clothes on..the blow heater was only blowing warm air from 1 side but the vent on the wall was letting in cold air so it just didn’t work..no kettle or tea or coffee in the room either which was a let down and no glasses either to drink from so had to go to reception to ask for glasses..middle of winter and no cooked breakfast either so had to make do with toast..over priced for the 1 night for the experience we had staying there…cancelled our booking for October 2025 as we feel it’s just not worth the money..we know it’s a budget hotel but still think it’s overpriced for the lack of facilities so won’t be staying again.

The room was tiny, barely any room to move around. The table underneath the TV hadn’t been cleaned, there was clusters of mould in the vent in the toilet cupboard and there was used tissue stuffed behind the TV. Absolutely disgusting. Will not be staying here again

Next to no sleep

What a farce - difficult to find, difficult to access and budget is an understatement. Not even a kettle or hairdryer in the rooms. We were then woken ever 20mins by led lighting that had a mind of its own and would simply switch itself on…we gave up and called reception (from our mobiles because there’s no phone in the room) at 2am….they tried to fix it and failed. We were moved to another room which had FILTHY sheets…we were moved for a second time to a room in which the heating was broken but by this time it was after 3am and we were so tired we had to sleep with our jackets over our duvets. The walls and ceilings are paper thin. There is zero privacy for having a shower etc and if you’re on the larger size then closing the toilet or shower door could be a problem. Wouldn’t stay here again even for £60 for the night. The staff however were fantastic. Lovely and as helpful as they could possibly be. They are wasted here.

Comfy rooms but check pricing of food and drinks

Room comfy, breakfast advertised at £6.50 on website, it’s actually £8.50. Also says complimentary tea and coffee at reception but it’s £2 and to be honest it’s horrible

Freezing Cold Rooms

No heating in room, the heater doesn't work, waited 2 hours and asked to change room, the receptionist said you need to set the thermostat like this and wait 2 hours and should be good to go, if not then she would change the room. Total 4 hours in a freezing cold room, feel like I was being played having to wait 4 hours, no heater take this long as I said to her. Back to the reception and request to change room, got to new room and it was the same, all night with no heating in a freezing cold room. When requested a backup portable heater, reception said the company couldn't bother to pay electricians to do the testing and bin it all. I think this is an on going problem with this Ibis hotel as last year they have the same issue, but at least they had a portable heater to help keep the guest warm. Also previous staff would quickly change room if the heater didn't work and not making it up that heater takes hours to heat up, the staff know this is a problem with majority of the room. Ibis, get your act together and fix the heater!
