Convenient for Gatwick flights
Small rooms but perfectly acceptable for a stay over before or after flights at Gatwick. Located in the South Terminal and so a choice of food outlets are available in the Terminal building. Would use again.

We arrived at the hotel around 1am. Although I already started the check-in process on my phone, since we were both very tired, my partner suggested to just do it at the reception. And well...the receptionist had quite an attitude. She asked me for my passport twice, without explaining why. When I told her our room number, she just asked: "are you sure this is your room number" - she only believed us once I showed it on my phone. All in quite an arrogant and patronising tone. She then asked whether we've been to the Bloc before and when my partner confirmed - a sudden change of tone: "welcome back, enjoy your stay". So fake. The above may seem like details and me being a "Karen" but that completely put me off the Bloc hotel - I mean I am paying for this, I should feel welcome, not like an intruder approaching passport control. If I ever stay at Bloc again, I will definitely avoid a direct contact with receptionist. Seems like a lottery (our previous stay was lovely).

Very convenient situated in the heart of the south terminal. Electronic check in is the best I have used; it just works. Rooms are small but fine for a one night stay before catching an early flight.

This property is great if you are not staying long. The rooms are small but functional. The bathroom/shower are combined. So if you dont like that, this isnt the place for you. We found our room quite cozy and perfect for resting. The restaurants inside the airport are not too bad. The train and shuttle to the North terminal are close and easily accessible. Please be advised that they do send a notification that is a little misleading and makes you think your room is ready early, but its not. They are just letting you know that they are cleaning your room before you show up. Also, they cannot store your luggage if you arrive early, so be prepared to pay for the luggage storage in the airport or carry them with you until check in. As with most hotels they also cannot guarantee early check-in as was our expierence. They have free hot beverages on floors 5 and 7. Also, you cannot operate the elevator without your room key. The front desk didnt seem to tell peoole that. We found several people in elevator confused as to why they couldn't get to their rooms, however there is a sign in the elevator stating you need to activate the elevator with your key.

The room was small but ckran. Very convenient for food options with a Wetherspoons anf Giraffe in walking distance. There was an initial issue with getting access to the room as i had checked in online and had to go to reception to get a card. Apart from that small issue id recommend the Bloc if you have an early flight

Bloc hotel highly recommended to anyone! At the terminal. Amazing staff. Lovely clean room. Easy access to cafes and restaurants. Will definitely stay again.
