Truly an example of family-owned pride of ownership! Rooms are freshly renovated and quiet at an excellent price. We slept better than we had anywhere else along our 2-week road trip!

We arrived to Gallup later than expected due to rough weather between Oklahoma and Gallup - From tornado warnings to snow storms. We were road weary and our 11wk old was a bit fussy upon arrival. The staff at Microtel was kind and helpful! Our room was well kept, clean and comfortable. The cable wasn’t working well for a moment and the front desk clerk was kind enough to walk my fiance through how to rectify the issue. The shower was warm and welcoming. The convenience of the conditioning shower gel bottle within the shower was great! Once we settled into a few hours of slumber, we were all three appreciative of the warm welcome and ease of check in! Microtel Gallup will be our choice stay next time we roadtrip Route 66/I40 to visit family across several states!

They love their weed!
The customer service by the front desk was good. What wasn't so good was the overwhelming smell of weed in the lobby as well as the hallway. Even our room smelled of weed! It's a little ironic that cigarette smoking is not allowed but the place reeks of marijuana. If you don't like the smell of weed, don't stay here!

It’s a cheap hotel.
It was exactly that a cheap hotel. Their complimentary breakfast was really nothing. No protein provided, waffle maker, terrible coffee, bread, cereal….. The “office” chair in the room had plastic bags wrapped around it, not sure why since it was a new chair. The walls are also super thin. Management was friendly and I can appreciate a small town not having staff to facilitate amenities.

The breakfast is good for the price of the hotel and it's cheaper than most other hotels in town. HOWEVER... They refused to refund the rest of my hotel stay after I checked out after a night because I had to return home early due to a family member's suicide attempt. This was after their drink machine ate the last of my available cash. Their "newly renovated" rooms are anything but. The bathtub was badly, badly chipped, the room was unpleasantly warm when I arrived and took forever to cool down, and that air conditioner might have been the noisiest one I've ever experienced in a hotel room. The door didn't properly lock because the door was mis-set in the frame and the backup swing-bar latch didn't stay over the ball and I kept having to reset it. The window seat pad was covered in badly flaking pleather material and I'm not sure why the chair at the desk was covered in a clear plastic bag. I'm hoping it wasn't bedbugs. When I was getting my stuff to bring in, I was approached by a homeless guy outside who kept licking his lips and staring at me and would not leave me alone. I used to like this hotel. And before they respond that expedia wouldn't let them do a refund, let me assure you that expedia contacted them about it twice and they refused.
