Room 315 had kitchen extracting trunking by the window which gave an irritating noise which meant we could not have the window open there appears to be a pigeon roosting there also making various annoying noises pecking the window etc - we were disappointed to not find a clock in the room ! Staff were very polite & helpful
This is a quant but modern hotel. The dining room was nice along with the bar. The staff in both were very accommodating. Very convenient for train station and shopping.
Only a warm shower, decor in room needs improvement. TV didn't work reported but to avail. Breakfast mediocre, at check out nobody interested in how our stay was!!!
The property was probably lovely 50 years ago but was very jaded and in need of modernisation. There were four floors and one very small lift. It could only fit 2 people wirh a suitcase each and was extremely slow. At breakfast I told the member of staff that I required a gluten free breakfast and all he provided was 3 small pieces of toast even though I had paid for a full english! Not impressed. I would not stay again and would not recommend.

We stayed for two nights and hotel served our needs - close to centre and Ben Nevis. Building and rooms especially tired and in need of a refurb, peeling woodwork and mould in window frames. That said, staff were very friendly and helpful and bistro food was good. Breakfasts were ok.

The hotel room was very comfortable and nicely modernized. However, the public rooms are now very old-fashioned and need a serious upgrade very soon.
Our trip began a day late due to being hit by Hurricane Beryl. They would not modify the reservation even though this was a natural disaster that was completely out of our control. We booked this property because of the location to the train station. Upon arrival we discovered bed bugs in one of our rooms. They were not able to accommodate us and place us in another room so they moved us to another property outside of town. This was inconvenient for us but the staff was nice enough and gave us taxi vouchers to get back to their hotel so we could walk to the train station that we had booked for the Jacobite and all of the other things to explore in town. This was the main reason for booking the location to begin with as it was central to all of our plans. So in addition to having our trip delayed by no fault of ours the hotel location was changed not by our choice. So we were stuck paying for two nights at the hotel we did not even stay at. They did not reimburse us for any costs as they said this was up to Expedia who we booked through. So if that is the case – bad review of Expedia as well.
This is without doubt the worst place I have ever stayed! The hotel is stuck in a time warp and is in major need of an uplift - however that is not why I’ve scored it so low. I stayed in a room on the first floor and the temperature in the room was nearing 29 degrees, and that was with the radiators off and the windows open. I made reception aware and they brought fans to the room but that did little to lower the temperature. The hotel was full so I could not be offered another room but was offered a refund. This was at 19:50pm and had there of been other hotels with rooms, I’d have left. I ended up having 2 hours sleep due to the heat which completely ruined the stay. The breakfast hall smelt musty and damp and the food was less than average - in fact I’d consider my stay there to be more hostel than I would hotel. Whoever is in charge of this hotel needs to take a good hard look at what’s being offered because it’s sub-standard by a long way. I understand this may be a family run hotel and part of me feels bad for writing this review but I have to be honest. In a hotel, you want a good bed (it wasn’t good) pillows that are not yellow (these were) and to be able to sleep - which I didn’t. I would advise anyone thinking of booking here to not! Even if it means paying more, your money will be much better spent elsewhere.
