The hotel staff was very friendly. We were checked-in by Jackie and Joanna and they both exhibited excellent customer service skills. We stayed in room 306. Upon entering the room, we noticed a soft spot in the floor. Several bathroom tiles were cracked and broken and moved beneath your feet when walked on. The bathroom needs a good cleaning and needs new caulk where the tub meets the floor. Please clean where the sink meets the countertop as well. TV is small compared to most other hotels. Other than that it was okay.

Liked breakfast. Floor on 3rd floor feels like you going to fall through it and the room doors dont close properly. Was a 1/2 gap to see into the hallway. Hot water was shut off in the bathroom sink because it leaked so badly. Room was only cleaned one time in four days.

It was all pretty good. In addition to the cuisine, accommodations, and staff, the kids had a great time in the hot tub and pool. We had a great time. The big kahuna, our target, and the death were both within walking distance. Without a doubt, I would suggest the Wingate by Wyndham.

A few issues… not sure if I’d stay again

When we arrived, the front desk woman looked up at us and didn’t say a word. She just stared at us instead of asking how she can help us etc. She didn’t say anything until we said we are there to check in. The room was fine except when we arrived the door was actually slightly ajar. We looked everywhere and I convinced myself it was just that the housekeeping didn’t close it all the way, but that anything weird went on. there was a little dot of blood or something on the sheet. It smeared when touched so it wasn’t as stain. It was pretty late and we wanted to get to bed, so I just stripped the sheet off and used the rest of them. There was a welcome text that said to reach out if we need anything, and I got a response mid day the next day. But we were out and I couldn’t be there then (we had put do not disturb on). I didn’t hear anything again. One of the nights it took about 20 mins for the shower water to become hot. I also noticed that there was a large gap between the bottom of the front door and the floor (probably 1-2 inches) and we could stick our fingers fully under it and see lots of light from the hall. I didn’t notice until the last night so I covered it with a towel. But everything else went fine, and we thought the breakfast was really good… with lots of options… and the location and price were good.

Staff was very friendly. Upon check in we were greeted by a cheerful lady who promptly got us our room. The room was spacious enough that it was not cramped. Breakfast each morning was good. Front desk staff was quick to give out activity and dining options as we were in Destin for a quick anniversary getaway. The only downside of our visit was a brief almost unnoticed power outage that took out the elevators for a few hours, even that was only a minor inconvenience. Coffee at breakfast left a lot to be desired, but breakfast overall was great. Regardless, we will stay here again on our next visit to Destin.

This is by far the worst stay I have ever experienced since I started coming to this Windgate hote I went to bed after filing multiple complaints and awaken to stumping back and forth over room 109, we did not enjoy it at all and certainly will not be returning nor will we recommend it ever but I do plan to write a lengthy review of my experience from last night and this morning.
