You get what you pay for

The front desk people were very nice. We stayed in a double queen room with a kitchenette. The floor was filthy, our feet were so dirty walking on it. We saw a couple of roaches and the bathroom had mold in the corners. The beds were decently comfy, but the sheets needed cleaned more. We found hair that wasn’t ours and old socks under the bed that weren’t ours either. The room was spacious for us 4 girls. Small bathroom but the water pressure was great though. They put us in a room surrounded by a ton of men. Men who staying there for work I think. We were a bit uncomfortable because they would constantly be outside by our door and stare at us when we would come/go. However, we didn’t end up having any issues with any of them.

I loved how it was close to everything and I got a great price. Staff was very nice and it was very quiet the whole time. The only downside was the fridge leaking, the floor was dirty, and there was a weird smell. But it was a place to stay and perfect for someone on a budget. Overall, it’s nice if you aren’t spending your whole trip inside.

Cheapest Hotel, for a Reason!

Theres a reaon why this is the budget option. It is conveniently located, so the beach was only a short drive away, and the boardwalk was only a scary 10 minute walk past people doing drugs in the hotel parking lot, and people posted up at nearly every corner of the property, doing god knows what. I had a room with a kitchenette on the corner. I would be awoken in the middle of the night, every night, to someone banging on the trashcan placed outside of my room. It also sounds like someone's jumping on the bed upstairs when they walk around. I asked for non-smoking, but the room stank of cigarette smoke and had little burn marks here and there as well as what i would assume was mold at the baseboards in the bathroom and in the shower itself, where the tub meets the wall. If you try to come back to your hotel after sundown, you will not be able to park anywhere near in front of your room as the rooms with the drug dealers living there will have company use every available spot. Youre supposed to be required a parking permit, but none of these cars had one visible. When i brought it to staff attention, she got hateful and told me that there is no reserved parking at the hotel. Had i paid any more than i did, i would have demanded my money back. But for future reference, just spring the extra couple hundred bucks and stay somewhere nice. Oh, and we found a water scorpion in the bathroom 🙃

Staff was really nice and my room was perfectly acceptable. Of course the property is a bit dated but our room was very clean and the property felt extremely safe. Lots of other couples and families visiting for Memorial Day weekend and we could even see the fireworks from the balcony. If you want a condo book a condo, but if you’re looking for a safe budget friendly place this is great. Walking distance to harbor walk and a 5 minute drive to the beautiful Henderson state park!!

This property struggles with the same issues that most cheap stays struggle with, people who disobey rules and disrespect the property. We had to be switched to 3 different rooms due to the first room having a roach infestation and smelled like weed, the second room had a very stale cigarette smell that was awful and the tv didn’t work. The third room thankfully everything worked and finally didn’t have roaches but it had a faint smell of weed that was drowned out by cologne. We only seen one roach in that room and it was thankfully on the last day. The front desk staff were very nice and due to the inconvenience then gave me a significant discount. That was maybe the single highlight to our stay here. Another positive is the location, right behind a beach shop and a lot of places to visit and eat nearby. The harbor walk is just a couple minutes down the road as well. I’m really not trying to bash motel 6 but I think it should be something to consider before staying, I brought my pregnant wife and 2 year old daughter so the smoke and insect issues was a big problem for us. As I said, very great staff. If the customers wouldn’t leave their doors wide open for hours and smoke indoors maybe this place wouldn’t have the issues that they do. I would not stay again solely because of the roaches.
