This hotel was terrible. The front desk area was okay, but as soon as we entered the room, it was dirty, the bathroom was unclean, and had mold. The lamps, didn't have lamp shades and the walls had things stuck to it. (not sure what it was it was just gross to look at) My roommate and I was trying to just suck it up and stay for the days we set, but the last straw for us is that first night when the roach crawl on me while sleeping. The next day, we checked out and went somewhere else. Don't be fooled by the pictures like me. On top of the dirty rooms and other things, the people who stayed there were sketchy-looking. We did not feel safe.

As a single woman traveling alone with my two young boys, I have never felt more unsafe than I did at the Plaza Hotel Fort Lauderdale. The deadbolt lock on our room door was completely broken, and the only other lock “a flimsy latch” wasn’t even secured to the wall. There wasn’t even a chair tall enough to wedge under the door handle, leaving us with absolutely no way to properly secure the room overnight. That alone is enough to warrant serious concern, especially for a mother traveling with children. But the situation got even worse. While trying to take our luggage to the elevator, a man—unidentified and not wearing anything to confirm he was hotel staff—approached me and asked if I was checking out, then proceeded to ask me for my room key. He attempted to take our bags and entered the elevator with us, creating a deeply uncomfortable and potentially dangerous situation. I had no idea who he was or what his intentions were, and the hotel had no visible security or staff presence to intervene. On top of all this, the hotel was filthy. There was trash in the hallways, and the overall condition of the property was neglected and unwelcoming. No woman traveling alone, especially with children, should have to endure this kind of fear and lack of basic safety. This hotel is completely unacceptable and should not be in operation in its current state. I would never stay here again and strongly urge others especially families and solo travelers to stay far away.

This property has HORRIBLE conditions, it needs a major renovation ASAP. The Plaza Hotel is infested with roaches. Everything is outdated. The linen had some spots. The staff was decent and helpful. But the quality of the hotel is just horrific. Some of the photos to advertise the hotel do NOT match the hotel. The pool was closed for some reason, the jacuzzi was out of service and had no water. I had to ask for a trash can for my hotel room. They provided me with more wash cloths and towels but they were still worn out and had slight stains on them and stringy. The curtains were stained. Ashes were in the window frame. One of the lamps in the room was missing a lamp shade cover smh. If i could give this place 0 stars i would, because roaches are definitely UNACCEPTABLE. I didnt even get to sleep peacefully before my flight. I checked out around 1:30am because of the conditions. I definitely would not recommended.

I turned on the light and it was like a scene from ratatouille, except with roaches. They. Were. Everywhere. They also ran out of keys so the security had to let us into our room. No television clicker. Overall nightmare.

We did not stay the night. The hallways reeked of urine. The dresser was torn apart and unusable. The bathroom was dirty. The headboard wasn’t even attached to the bed frame. Most importantly, the door to the room wouldn’t shut from the inside. I noticed the door frame was bent before we left for an event, but we were able to close the door from the outside. When we got back the door key worked but the door latch wouldn’t release to open the door. Maintenance had to pry the door open with a crowbar. Now I know that this has been done in the past which is why the frame was bent. All amenities were closed for one reason or another. When we told the front desk about the door issue, the clerk was not apologetic at all, they didn’t even seem to care. Disgusting property, don’t stay here.

Worst hotel in Ft Lauderdale

this was one of the worst hotels I have stayed in. The floors were dirty and sticky could not take my socks off in the room. There was no fridge, no microwave, no phone, no alarm clock the tv was internet that did not work and never did get it working. There was a broken picture hanging on the wall. If you want a nice place don't go here.

I will never stay here again. The property is not while maintain. We went into our room and there were an eyeleash in the bathroom, no towels, the dresses was not wiped down. The bathroom was dirty and tile grout was yellow and missing. For some reason i didn't read the reviews. Pool waa closed and not maintain. All negative reviews are true.
