It was ok. Nothing fabulous or horrible. It’s not as nice as the other La Quinta’s I have stayed at but nothing really wrong. Some wear items if you looked you could see but nothing major. We just stayed 1 night, my dog was having surgery early in the morning and we live 5 hours away. It was close to the freeway access. Wish there was more lighting in the parking lot on the side and the frontage road in front, but I know that’s not their responsibility but would make it easier to see the street. I’ve stayed at them before because I can always count on them to not give me grief for bringing my fur kids.

I was traveling from Iowa to New Mexico to Colorado on a relocation, house-hunting trip. En route, in Kansas, I lost my wallet. After fed-exing a new credit card, I was able to make Expedia reservations in Kansas and New Mexico. However, after 10 hr of driving to Colorado, the young thing at La Quinta (Ft Collins) insisted that I produce a picture ID, something the other properties waived, given my tough situation. The attendant was unmoved and then asked me to leave the lobby. My trip to Colorado was thus ruined and I drove -- that night -- 13 hours back home. This lack of any empathy or reasonableness was striking. I had no idea that I had to produce an ID that I no longer had. So I was essentially stranded. I had paid for the room by my new credit card. I could produce convincing evidence (on my smart phone) of who I was. But no matter: rules are rules and go away. I will think twice about using this hotel chain, who trains their employees to make no exceptions in this personal emergency. I don't care for this brave new world of "screw you".

It’s a rundown property that needs some TLC. Pictures are deceiving. The building they put us in had the outside door latch taped because the front desk guy said it might not work with our room key. So anyone could enter the building at anytime. The room was dim and uninviting.

There was hair in the shower The toilet seat was not housed on the toilet properly and it seemed as if it was not the correct size for it and any time you went to sit down it would slide to extreme to one side or the other. There is blood on the ceiling The gyom equiptment I tried to use was broken
