Good staff, wore out motel, inconsistent details
The app states the pool and spa are available from September to May, which would include April, but it’s not available in April. It’s empty and padlocked shut. I recommend fixing the pool’s availability. Maybe they meant May to September but that’s not what it says.
The app says there’s an elevator. There’s not. I recommend fixing that information.
The app says the facility is smoke free. People smoke on the balcony just outside your door. My eyes were burning in my room one night. Not sure if somebody was smoking in the room next door or on the balcony then. Employees smoke just outside the rear office door.
Maintenance suffers here. Window missing on one unit. Room has cracks in sink and shower. Mold/mildew/other people’s hair in shower. Shower head leaks and sprays water against wall and ceiling. Lights are dim. Turntable in microwave broken. Hot/cold plumbed backward in sink. Ice machine did not produce ice on several attempts.
I did not get the room I booked and paid in full for a month before our stay.
All staff we interacted with from the adults in the front office to the high schoolers switching over the rooms in the morning were pleasant and seemed to be interested in doing a good job and in providing good customer service. It’s clear this motel’s shortcomings are not a staff issue but a management issue with not investing in itself to produce a product consistent with the Best Western name.
