A gem
Super friendly staff. Lots to do and see. Beautiful setting. However we were disappointed that paper plates and plastic utensils were used for breakfast (which itself was great). Also a bit surprised we had to pay extra for early check in even though our room was cleaned and ready to be occupied. Check out is at 11:00 and they mean it. Someone knocked on our door at 10:50, 10:55 and 11:04 when we vacated. Otherwise highly recommended

Beautiful stay in Alaska
Unique lodge by the airport with excellent service. The lodge has art from Alaskan artists throughout the lodge, a variety of mounted animals, posters of historical facts, trivia and legends. The breakfast buffet and breakfast staff is excellent with just about something for everyone. Early risers may not have to wait in line. If you wish to see the Aurora Borealis from the lodge, you won’t be disappointed, provided the weather cooperates. You’ll get a wake up call to scurry on outside. The free shuttle to and from the airport is convenient. The room was comfortable, although I found the pillows too hard. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises, too. There is a disadvantage in that it isn’t really within walking distance of anything to sightsee. There are a few things on the grounds for your entertainment. Their restaurant is within walking distance, right next door, but everything on the menu was spendy, even the Mac and Cheese. They do offer transportation to downtown Fairbanks, museums, visitor center, etc. but the fee is greater than ride share companies and taxis and it is not available until 1 PM. Not great for early risers, although businesses don’t even open until 10 or 11. Eco- friendly? Somewhat, effort is made and appreciated. Could use refillable shampoo, conditioner, body wash dispensers mounted in shower and motion detecting lights in the bathroom that shut off when not in use. Apparently they are expanding and building even more on the property.

Little disappointed, hotel is great...
I came to this hotel because of possibility to see northern lights, it is almost impossible to see them there as lights are turned on all the time, even the aurora viewing room is full of lights... Also they advertise Lights wake up calls and never called me once... Staff at front desk aren't friendly as they announce, the younger ones are the worse, for a copy of my key they asked for my ID which was inside of the room...In general hotel is great but not the best option for Aurora seekers. Missed room service too.

Love Pikes would totally recommended it. The only thing we had a bad experience when we were checking in. The person at the front desk was not having a good day and took it out on us. We asked if we could check in earlier because we had been up since 1am. She proceeded to tell us that no that check-in is at 4 PM and that she had to do her paperwork and was the only one there answering the phones, and she didn't have time to check to see if our room was ready. Wow I have never been told that. Extremely bad customer service. Five minutes later the manager came up to the desk and was helping other customers check-in. We went right up to her to ask her if we could get into our room and she said absolutely and gave us the key. How easy was that and she did it right in front of the girl that gave us such a hard time.
