Great walkable area. Hotel could have been cleaner. Grout was brown and unkept in bathroom. As someone with a lower limb loss, I have to sit on shower/bathtub ground, unless there is an ADA setup. There wasn’t- or the one available was $60 more. The shower door repeatedly closed on me while having to scoot in/out of shower.

My wife and I have been staying at this HI Express on and off for the past four years. First and foremost, I want to highlight how amazing the staff is. From the front desk to housekeeping and breakfast staff, everyone is friendly, accommodating, and makes you feel right at home. However, we’ve noticed a gradual decline in the hotel over the years. Issues with cleanliness, food quality, and needed repairs have become more apparent. It’s disappointing because we really enjoy the staff and the value here, but it has slipped to the point where other hotels in the area offer a slightly better experience for a comparable rate.

Good Location
The location of the hotel was perfect for our trip. It was centrally located for the areas we visited, Philidelphia, Ephrata, Lancaster, etc. The staff was friendly and courteous. We did have ants in our bathroom, but no one actually had bug spray. We think they found some because after the second day the ants were no longer there. The shower also leaked and we had to put towels down to keep the water from spreading. While the room was comfortable and a good size, the showerhead needs to be replaced.

Weekend Retreat - 2 night stay
It was a comfortable stay at the Holiday Inn express at Exon. My boyfriend and I even signed up for their membership! The only downside was that housekeeping are not scheduled on certain days and that needs to be clarified from the start of the stay. Here you would need to request for housekeeping before 9am. Overall, very comfortable and whatever you need they will provide for you which is great.

You can tell the renovation was done with the idea of saving money. Many stains on carpets and blinds, holes in bedding. And the one room smelt like body odor or old food.
