The Brandywine was just fine. Friendly staff, decent complimentary breakfast, clean and convenient. Expedia, however, booked the room for me under false pretense….it was not the room I confirmed. Not a deal breaker but probably will not book through them again.

Fabulous stay
We were here for two nights- we liked the keyless entry/text system for hotel and room. All staffpersons were welcoming and happy to help/answer questions. The beds were very comfortable, and breakfast offered both hot/cold items. Everything very clean and relaxing. Location is key- so close to so many of the PA/DE sites, and coffee shop in front of the hotel was wonderful.

Nice, family run. Needs a few more amenities. No where to hang used towels, so they couldn’t be reused. At the price, water bottles should be in each room each day. Should have 24 hour front desk staff But staff and owner were very nice and helpful.

What a pleasant surprise. Nicest place we’ve stayed in a while. Very clean, everyone very helpful, not noisy, really pleasant. Warm baked cookies at check in. We will definitely stay there again, we visit Longwood gardens often. This is close by.

Brandywine River Hotel is a lovely peaceful, clean and secured place to stay. The staff is simply delightful and there are nearby restaurants and bakery that are walk-able. This is the only hotel that I've ever stayed at that had wonderful firm pillows and soft ones too. The mattress was just right and the tub in the shower had a non-slip texture too. This was a blessing with my bad knees and my fear of slipping and falling. I will definitely be back again with the rest of my family. This truly a lovely hotel if you just want to have a peaceful weekend get away.
