Disliked: Cleanliness
This was probably a beautiful hotel 50 years ago
But it is in need of major updating.and cleaning. Also our bed was terrible, the mattress needs changing.
We loved the view from the room and the work that has been done on the outside terrace. We thought that the entrance to reception and the reception area could be improved. We missed not having a fridge in room. Otherwise had a great stay.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Approaching the hotel from the seafront road we were not holding out much hope. The outside is in desperate need of repainting and repair. Arriving in the carpark there was a sign saying to register your car with Reception. What we were not aware of when booking was the £6 daily charge to park. The grounds of this hotel are huge. Why do they need to charge a parking fee?!! It tainted our mood on arrival as did the steps leading upto the Reception. The steps are carpeted and are not the kerb appeal you would expect. Very dusty and dirty. Maybe better to remove the carpet and sweep the steps. Our room was dated but clean and the beds comfortable so we slept well. The staff are friendly and the food is ok.
Lovely setting, homely feel hotel, staff friendly, Bar was cheaper than going out, massive room, though a little dated, but that added to the authenticity, which we loved. We definitely go back again 😊
Hotel location is fantastic but the hotel itself is extremely poor. Going upstairs to our room we were met with a smell of damp. Carpets threadbare in places and decor generally poor. Room was clean but basic and you needed a magnifying glass to watch the very small TV. We had breakfast only in the hotel but again this was not value for money. One morning we turned up at 9am and were left with very little to choose from the buffet. Would not choose to rebook unless completely refurbished.
Very clean hotel and ideally situated.
Great views and lovely grounds to walk about.
However, beds were very uncomfortable. I think the mattresses have seen better days.
Great food best in a hotel.i have had all year. I stay in hotels 3 or 4 nights a week.
Relaxing on the sea front for a walk .
Ample parking unfortuantely you have to.pay but only £6 a day.
Really nice weekend away room clean bed comfy restaurant shame pet friendly but not allowed in restaurant had to eat in a side room table no table cloth felt little like second class
