Great room, clean and very quiet. I have no complaints about the facilities. Reception staff was friendly and efficient. The main downside is the food at the restaurant being rather poor and overpriced. £20 for a cheap quickly put together burger, undercooked chips and onion rings is bad. Breakfast buffet overall poor too, with dried up cooked breakfast sitting under heat lamps for far too long. Weird layout with items dotted around and hard to find.

We liked the hotel and the staff were friendly. The food was very good both in the dining room and for breakfast. It is very confusing to find the parking area however and the website should be clearer in how to get there. The hotel uses the parking lot at the rugby stadium next door and it costs 12 pounds per evening. It is a very circuitous route to actually enter it however.

We were due to stay weekend 27-29 Sept. However, my wife and I had Covid and my 92 year old mother broke her hip two days before. We had booked on a non-refundable basis, but based on what had occured we thought Hotels.com/Marriott would make an exception and let us re-arrange even if there was a further cost to ourselves. This did not happen.

Lovely hotel but had a few issues. Heating was broken in the room. Quickly corrected by moving us to a new room, but the heating wasn’t working in that one either. No drama as the staff were brilliant. Restaurant was not very good and over priced on some dishes. I had the steak cooked pink. It didn’t look nice, almost veal , very pale and anaemic and not much flavour. Nothing to really complain about just mot worth the money. Soup was nice, and the burger was nice. Breakfast was plentiful and tasted nice quality. I’d happily stay again just be more selective about what I order. Also, no soap in the restaurant toilets and no conditioner in the room.

Stayed many times at this hotel and was surprised to see 2 of the 3 lifts out of action and a discover a recent decision it to serve food or light snacks in the bar area. There were many other frustrated and disappointed guests other than me to be told this whole I had a drink in the bar. I went out of the hotel to eat in the end. Comfortable bed and spacious rooms with excellent staff but this stay wasn’t as good as every other time I have stayed here, which was a shame.

Nice hotel and will use again when in Exeter
Lovely hotel overall 2 negative points is one the breakfast availability as every day food ran out and very slow reaction to refills so you had finished before more available. Secondly the hotel appeared to be very focussed on sustainability but a bit far with the lifts . Seems a new hotel but 2 lifts always turned off so only one working at anytime which stopped working one day so saw people dragging suitcases up 5 flights . I get trying to save electric but why build a hotel with 3 lifts as it's counterproductive.
