False Advertisement
After being stuck on I-80 for over 6 hours due to a multi-car accident, I decided to stop for the night. After comparing costs and reviews for several hotels, I chose Quality Inn because of their good ratings, reasonable price, and their advertised pet-friendly policy, which was important as I was traveling with my cat. However, when I arrived to check in around 10 PM, I was told they do not allow cats—even though their site advertised that pets were welcome. To make matters worse, because I had booked through a third-party site and it was past the check-in time, I was unable to cancel my reservation. This false advertising cost me $79—money I could not afford to lose, as I was already on a tight budget for this trip. The experience was extremely frustrating and disappointing. Hotels need to ensure their policies are clear and accurate to avoid situations like this.
