I did not like the arrival. The attendant was not welcoming, he did not inform us about the hotel and for example about the music night. He wanted me to sign the check in form on his tablet without showing me first what i was signing. Also find some dirty around and under the drawers. Poor breakfast. On the other side nice view on the mountains.

Not worth the money
Would NOT recommend this hotel. We stayed in room 115 at the end of the complex. Our check-in was after 9pm, and thankfully my wife called ahead to make sure someone would be there. There would not. They left our room key in that late check-in box outside, which was fine. There were no external lights available at that location and we had to use cellphone flashlight to confirm our room. All the parking spaces by our room has been taken and had to park 10 rooms down from our room. The light switch inside the door did nothing, no way to get light until you got all the way into the room. Once inside, we found a kitchenette with no paper towels or any furnishings, a king-sized bed whose comfort level should be classified as a war crime and tiny square bed pillows that were terrible. All for a room that books out at 230/night and isn't worth half that. Oh, and their wifi is a joke, 1mb download speed. Are you serious?

We liked nothing. We were scammed by this hotel and Expedia. Reservation was canceled with email confirmation. Blue Door hit us with a no show and neither will assist with a resolution. BBB complaints have been filed.

Front desk was great
The Inn is on the older side of things. Knowing that going in, you will be fine. We didn’t have any problems and the room was clean enough. Front desk was friendly and really helpful. We arrived early and they gave us a room as soon as they could.

Great place but hot room.
Overall it was really good. But the room was hot and never cooled down! The AC was running all night but was also on the total opposite side of the room from where you sleep so you can’t feel it on that side. Should move it to the other side or get a fan in the room too.

We had a good experience here, we paid extra for a balcony room and honestly wouldn’t next time. We sat out front on the chairs in the front with our family and still had a good view of the mountains.

No refund regardless of 10k+ acre fire
My husband and I never got to stay at the Blue Door Inn. The Alexander Fire was 0% contained the day my husband and I were to check in and we called to cancel our 3 night reservation. The authorities had already canceled the event we were attending. I was restricted from talking to a manager and because policy states a 2 day cancelation policy I was denied a refund…even under these extreme circumstances.

Don't Do It! Ick!!
This was my least favorite place we stayed while in Colorado!!! The shower curtain had what looked like blood stains on it, and there was hair still on the shower wall when we checked in, as well as dirt and hair in the corner of the bathroom behind the door. I wish we had known that there was ZERO privacy available in this room. This was not an ideal room for a family with older kids. We left our "Do Not Disturb" sign on our door then came back to find that they had been in our room which really irked me. When we came back and found that they had been in our room, they had made our bed and there was a pillow on one bed with blood on one side and dirt on the other (And they had the nerve to leave an envelope for a tip after making the bed with this). When we called to ask for a new pillow and case, we were told to come to the office, which we did, but were then only given a pillow and told there were no cases. Not sure who would want to sleep on a motel pillow with no case, but it wasn't us! I'm still icked after staying here. We cannot wait to go back to Estes Park but will definitely not be staying at the Blue Door Inn again!

Just stayed at the Blue Door Inn for 2 nights with my 2 kids. The staff were very friendly and very accommodating. The rooms were very dated but clean. Very surprised at how comfortable the beds were, which was a plus. The pool was a nice addition and clean, however the hottub was not clean or running which would have been nice to use at night. Very limited seats around the location. Very convenient to walk to lake estes and to downtown. The breakfast offered in the morning was very poor, bagels hard as rocks and little to no variety. If you dont need all the bells and whistles the Inn was fine to stay for the price point offered. Definitely not a 5 star but comfortable and clean.
