Overall good experience, friendly staff and central location. The hotel has nice amenities and room was quiet and secure. The room was feeling a bit tired (blinds not working great, some wear and tear) parking with a big event the night we stayed was in the next building but pedestrian walk ways make access easy.

Our room was dirty, when we checked in; mainly in the bathroom. Bed was uncomfortable and we both had a sore back by morning. It was very noisy; could hear guests on all sides of us. When taking our dog outside for a walk, we felt uneasy because of some homeless people outside the hotel.

My wife and I attended a concert at Rogers Place so this hotel was selected for its proximity to the concert venue. What was really convenient was the indoor ped-way that we could take to/from the hotel and Rogers Place. Really nice given the concert was in November and it was cold.. The hotel was ice and the staff were very friendly. Parking is a bit of pain and expensive but it’s downtown so it is to be expected.

A little perturbed!
The hotel is not very accessible to check in as parking is limited to a few spots just in front of the hotel. Parking was good except our friend who also stayed at the hotel got a ticket even though the parking was included. They didn't take her license plate # so she got a ticket. Our room didn't get cleaned as they said there was a door hanger on the bed that we were suppose to put out but there wasn't one. Thought there might be a little price adjustment but not! Almost think a good way to get out of cleaning?? There was a concert on at Roger's Place and the hotel was booked up. After the concert, the line up for the elevator was out the main entrance and took about 1/2 hour or more to get to our room. They only had 2 elevators working out of 3 and had closed the stairway going up. 26 floors and two elevators is not ideal. If staying here be prepared for few headaches with concerts/sporting events going on.

The hotel was great! The suite was HUGE tons of space and clean. The hotel was clean and had super friendly staff. Loved that there were so many restaurants in the area to chose from. The only downside was the amount of homeless people outside of the hotel and in the area.. but we did feel safe while at the hotel. We will definitely stay again

Disappointing stay
The parkade elevator was broken, so upon parking we had to walk up the service stairs into the building with our bags. Once we checked in the line up to the elevators was incredibly long so we asked staff where the stairs were. We were informed that there are no public staircase as we will need to wait for the elevator. Waited approx 10 min to get up to our room and another 5-7 min to get back down. When we returned for the evening the line up to access the elevators was out the lobby door into the sidewalk. Once again no one was able to use stqircae as it was “only for emergencies” it was at least a 30 minute wait to get into the elevator back into our room. All while the lobby was packed with patrons trying to get into their room. Was very anxiety provoking and stressful, not to mention a safety hazard. while the staff was very kind and did their best, it’s very disappointing that guests were waiting for so long for on access their rooms with no other option but the elevators, and one was out of order. I’ve stayed at the sandman many times and enjoyed it, but it’s very unlikely I will book again after this trip.

Took 2.5 hours to get up to room after event, which is absurd considering how much they make you pay for the rooms.There was no staircase for anyone to use which raises concerns for emergency situations. Otherwise, rooms were clean and staff were polite enough, not all helpful though.
