Bathrooms were a bit weird. Overall, probably needing a face lift at some point. But was otherwise clean and had decent space for a standard room.
Our room did not look anything like the room we got. I suspect the building used to be some type of a medical facility based on the layout, rooms, etc. Our room was muggy and had an old smell all the time. It was not pleasant at all. You can’t open windows to let air circulate. Our bathroom… probably the worst bathroom i’ve had in a hotel room, it is nothing like the one on the pictures, it was a handicapped bathroom, very old, had a muggy smelled. The shower floor was a thick vinyl/plastic material but was peeling off as i felt bubbles underneath. The bathroom felt very cold and creepy in a way. I looked forward to warm showers after walking in the cold outside all day but i didn’t want to take a shower in that bathroom. The curtain on our room was about to fall off, one end of the rail was detached from the ceiling so i didn’t dare open and close curtains as i was afraid i would pull the whole thing down. I would definitely not choose this location again, but i might try the other Ibis location.
The location is great for what I wanted to achieve. However, it was very noisy at night, and I am not sure if the staff is trying to help manage that. I was waken up by the loud noises by people on my floor (slamming doors, loud steps etc.). I was also hoping to order delivery to my room, but the front desk refused to accept the delivery on my behalf (I hoped driver can drop off my food at front desk and I will pick it up from front desk immediately).

The property is conveniently located in the middle of everything. The staff is amazing. However the room we stayed in had poor ventilation so it felt muggy. The shower curtain smelled. And there was mold in the shower.
The staff in the hotel are what makes this hotel a great stay. They are all so friendly and helpful. Rooms cosy and beds very comfy. Hotel in a great location for princes street and all the local attractions.
We were able to leave our luggage at 11am and informed check in was 3pm, the desk staff were efficient & friendly.
We returned at 4.30pm then informed we would not able to check in as our room was not ready.
We were given a complimentary drink in the bar whist we waited but it was over 2 hrs late until we could check in, luckily it did not effect our dinner reservation.
We had to return to reception as the sink was blocked, staff were prompt in fixing it however we were then delayed getting ready for our evening.
I asked the following morning if we could negotiate a late check out as check in was delayed hiwever was told this was not an option.
Would not stay again
Ibis hotel was clean and comfortable . The staff were friendly and helpful. It's situated on the royal mile. It was central for all amenities that u would visit eg museum, castle dungeons. There's many places to eat out too .
I didn't like a member of staff being rude to me, because I had booked through yourselves and not the hotel directly.
The fact that the heating was broken in the room on the coldest day.
The pillow my daughter was given was dirty and housekeeping weren't doing a proper job.
When we checking out people were asking for a refund as they wouldn't stay for their remaining days due to hotel issues.
Wish I could give zero stars
