A perfect view
This was my fiancé’s and I first time up north. The water in our room didn’t stay hot long enough for a warm shower or use of the jacuzzi each night! It was very disappointing since that was the number one reason we chose this resort. For the jacuzzi, we called the office several times, left a message and never received a call back. Also there was a pile of dirty laundry (towels) left in our rooms bathroom cabinet. We didn’t notice til the next day when we open them to look for more toilet paper. It was pretty gross. For the price we paid and reputation, it was quite disappointing. The waitresses in the restaurant that were younger shorter blonde lady and younger lady with dark hair. They also were working together cleaning up the patio on our first day there. They were both kind, helpful and made us feel comfortable. Most of the food was good. Breakfast was great! I highly recommend for dessert the strawberry rhubarb crisp!!! The walleye and cranberry wild rice was not it, too much seasoning that just didn’t go together and it was soggy. Server wise, there was a man there that made the both of us uncomfortable. He didn’t seem pleased to be there. Our 1st day there he was seating a group before us and he didn’t come back for a pretty long time until another employee noticed us. After waiting yet a few more minutes, he then sat us after showing his frustration.

Very nice resort and grounds. The restaurant was very good. The hot tub was not hot and there was minimal hot water when showering. For the nightly rate paid I would expect all amenities should be in top notch condition.

I liked the outside view of Lake Superior from the grounds - but the shower curtain was smelly and the tack strip from the carpet was protruding with nail tacks - also the fact that the drain plug was broke - Also the staff having a discussion of business in the public area was unprofessional - The checkout staff team was good to note our concerns.

The room we got was not as advertised by Expedia—photo showed a sofa, but we had a jacuzzi in the middle of the living area. When we raised the issue with the front desk, they said that there was nothing they could do about it, but could upgrade the room for $100 extra. This was already a $400 room. The AC was extremely poor, and even with a ceiling fan and large floor fan it was too hot to sleep well. Shower door malfunctioned. Possible food poisoning at the restaurant. The grounds were beautiful and well-kept.

We loved our stay at Grand Superior Lodge! Came to visit the North Shore along with my husband and 2yr old son. We loved our 1 bedroom town home, plenty of room for us. It was very clean, comfortable and quiet. Gives off an up north feel with updated accomodations. We ended up eating at the restaurant a lot becuase it was easy with a 2yr old. The food and service was great. We also did a lot of sightseeing at Split Rock, Gooseberry Falls and went into Two Harbors. They are not very far from this resort, which is good when you have young kinds if you are looking to go off the grounds, made it easy.
