This is a 3 star hotel pretending to be a 4 star hotel. Our family room didn't have the sofa bed as advertised or a fridge. Every piece of machinery in the gym was in desperate need of repair and as always with this hotel it was over booked and over priced. There were a lot of events on in Dublin that weekend so unfortunately it was the only hotel available when we booked. On the plus side the room was relatively quiet and the beds comfortable. There are a number of other hotels within 1km of the Clayton Cardiff Lane that are much better value. Stay there if you're stuck but look for alternatives if you can.

Somehow arrived to find we had been booked in twice, staff weren’t great at dealing with this issue initially which left us very on edge wondering if we would be charged twice. They basically pointed out that it was our problem as we had booked through this site & not their own. Not a great experience however once we got the situation sorted (ourselves!) it was a better stay

Liked this property. Rooms were good size. No Air-conditioning but windows open a bit. Tea and coffee woth cookies a big plus. Not enough bath towels but could call and get more. I would stay here again.

They saved their day.
This is the second time we were staying at this property in 2 years. We came back as our first stay was pleasant and it was ideally located for our needs. As we stayed during the weekend we got free parking nearby too. However, we were disappointed by the lack of housekeeping, which was not provided to one of the rooms at all and for the other room, the tea cups were not cleaned, even after housekeeping was done. Apparently, one had to put the sign to clean the room, else they do not clean it. Rather strange as I do not put such a sign in every other hotel. The Manager did please us with a complimentary breakfast which was a nice gesture. The hotel is nice, clean, close to the centre, parking is okay-ish (not in the hotel). A bit expensive but hotel prices have moved on since Covid.

I had called this hotel directly far in advance for a request for a nice room with a decent view as this was a 25 anniversary stay. I asked for an early check in as we were coming in on a red eye. They told us they couldn’t do that and if we wanted to check in early we would have to book an extra night to ensure that. Our breakfast was included but I told them we would miss it as we were getting there an hour after (11am)breakfast finished . I asked if they could put a muffin or croissant in the room and that was a big no! Breakfast buffet the next day had a big selection but cold scrambled eggs and sausage/bacon. Any staff that we encountered weren’t overly friendly and I’m really glad we only stayed here for a short time rather than the duration of our stay. When I told the front desk about the sink spewing water all over ( and totally wetting my shirt) and asking about the view we requested ( we got first floor with a view of the ac units) he told us that none of views are good because of the direction of the hotel and nothing was said or done about the sink. Outside the hotel smelled like a sewer. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

Great family friendly hotel near Trinity college and the Liffy river, it’s a few blocks away so bring your walking shoes. Has a pool for the kids, and a great breakfast with all the Irish offerings. Overall a great place to stay in the city.
