Lovely hotel with friendly staff, clean room with super comfy bed. Walked to guiness storehouse and the zoo, really close to tram stop too. Overall would recommend this hotel
We arrived and I asked for a last minute “could our rooms be close?” I also said no worries if not. But they were able to get the rooms near enough to each. Saying we were in luck! The staff was extremely helpful when I needed to book a taxi to the airport. I was struggling to get the taxi websites to allow
my international telephone number. So the front desk set it up for me! And the taxi driver was very professional and prompt. We had dinner there our last night out of convenience. Honestly it was tasty (I had the fish and chips), and one of our cheapest meals. The staff overall seemed very… service oriented. Like they wanted to make sure we enjoyed our stay, it was an eagerness that was refreshing. It was a nice book end to our Ireland and Scotland trip.
The property is in the latter stages of a renovation of the hotel restaurant and bar. The bar has been turned into a temporary dining room which has spoilt the atmosphere considerably. The restaurant which was always great is now poor with a very limited menu. It may recover once finished but for now it is not worthy of a luxury hotel. I cancelled an additional trip and went elsewhere for now which is a shame as I like the Ashling and have stayed there many times over several years.
