I would not recommend eating at the hotel's restaurant. The staff is not well trained, and the food is below par for the price. The food service manager has a poor attitude and zero personality. Clearly displayed she could care less about meeting customer expectations in having an outstanding dining experience. There's a ton of better restaurants close by that truly understand and offer higher customer service standards.

Forced valet was a turnoff. Rate seemed disproportionate. Room was very small. Room had not been thoroughly cleaned in a long time. Space is “cute”, but not what I was expecting at all.

Nice idiosyncratic hotel
Charming, if a bit odd. It clearly wasn’t designed to be a hotel. My room was very large and comfortable. The shower is big and luxurious. I didn’t dine in the restaurant but got a croissant to take out. It was made in house and remarkably good. I wish I’d had a meal in the restaurant. Try to avoid a run in the back side of the hotel, especially on the lower floors. There’s noise and the trash dumpster every morning around 5:30, especially on Thursday when the trash trucks arrived.

Great choice for taking in a Detroit Red Wings game. Easy Uber there and back. The room was spacious and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

Stayed in Detroit for 3 nights with a couple friends. Loved the Foundation. Rooms were clean and well appointed, towels were great, shower big and roomy. Our sink didn't drain well. The downstairs bar and restaurant were welcome, but we wish there had been a lobby to use. Staff were great, valet parking too. We'd happily book here again.
