Located across the street from Wells Fargo Arena and the Iowa Events Center and along the river. Great walkways to enjoy being out along the river and also close enough to many bars/restaurants as well. Great staff, excellent breakfast and everything was clean and maintained. Plenty of parking.

I had an amazing view of the river. The room was big, the bed was great. I just felt like this big property has been ignored. It need a facelift!!! Clean carpet, paint in hallways, tile. I mean the basics are just bad. The lemon water was great and refreshing. The breakfast presentation and cleanliness was perfect!! The staff was nice. The parking lot was clean and lit well.

Only downside is that the building is older and could use some renovating. It is clean, the staff was very friendly, good food within walking distance, picturesque view along the river.

Overall the hotel was a good choice. We brought our dogs and the fee for them was nominal. The room was comfortable and we had a choice of several restaurants (some that allowed the pooches) within walking distance👍. We also appreciated that it was close to the venue we were visiting. It definitely worked for us!

My flight into Des Moines was delayed. I contacted the hotel to let them know. I didn't get to the hotel until 3:30 in the morning. The lady that was working had checked me in when i called earlier, so i was able to go straight up to my room when i got there. She even offered me a late check out, however, i had to leave first thing the next morning. Customer service was above and beyond wonderful. I had breakfast which was delicious. Im sorry that i can't remember the name of the lady that checked me in, or the name of the last that takes care of the breakfast. But they are the reason that i would stay here again!
