This is a well appointed motel that happens to have a beach monopoly. As an accommodation it is very pricey, but being steps from the beach is priceless. This is arguably the best SD beach. So, if beach proximity is not your priority there are better accommodations for less $$ nearby.

Del Mar Beach Hotel is absolutely fantastic! The location is unbeatable, right on the beach, making it the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway. Our room was spotlessly clean, beautifully updated, and incredibly comfortable. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect—everyone was super nice, friendly, and accommodating. Check-in and check-out were a breeze with no hassles or hidden fees, which was such a refreshing experience. Parking was convenient, which is a big plus in this area. This has become our go-to place for quick getaways, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a serene and stress-free stay by the beach!

The incredible location, superb customer service and great rooms will have us returning on a regular basis! We were met with a glass of sparkling and expresso every morning. The rooms were well thought out including mats and brushes as to not track in sand. Loved the products as well. The location to the Del Mar Beach Hotel is incomparable - breathtakingly beautiful to take in sunrises on the deck or witness the sunsets by the cozy fire pit. Every single person we encountered was friendly and welcoming. We have found our new home away from home!

Best kept secret in San Diego. Everything is within walking distance. Del Mar and the surrounding area is impeccable. Property is right on the beach. If you love dogs, this is a great place; Dog Beach is right there. Had a great time just watching the dogs having fun playing in the water and running around chasing each other. Horse track is less than 1 mile away. Great place to watch the sunset. Highly recommend.
