When I finally got a room 2 and a half hours after I got there it was clean. Person on duty said he would notify cleaning staff to make up the room. I told him I'd be back in an hour. I was gone 2 1/2 hours and the room still wasn't made up or cleaned. The new manager on duty later gave me another room that was ok.

Lack of customer service on some employees

Staff member Paul, on the weekend, he was not friendly at all and instead helping me, the customer, he was eager to make my life difficult. That’s not how customer service should be at a hotel. It was a simple and small request as, to hold a UPS package I was getting to do the work I was doing in Daytona. Good thing after other phones calls I had to make I was able to resolve BUT not with him.

Stayed out of necessity. Room was dirty. Bathroom was dirty and tub wouldn’t drain. And tub was dirty. Visible mold on walls and baseboards. Beds sink in the middle. Wouldn’t even use the water to brush my teeth.

Pros and cons

My stay was fine, the sheets and towels were clean, but the room was just older and run down. The tub drained slowly and it just needs some TLC. Despite there is no smoking, someone must’ve done it anyway because you could smell it when you opened the door. The staff was great at check in and I was even able to check in earlier.

After checking into our room, we went down the hall and found it very musty and dirty. Going into our room, we found the bottoms of the bed. And chair falling apart as well as the bathroom door not shutting at all and the room smelled like cigarette smoke very badly.

If Daytona Speedway is your priority, then this will do, but... It's not a hotel ! It's an old La Quinta motel that's had a coat of paint. It's tragically overpriced. The staff are friendly and helpful, but that's where it ends. The rooms are spacious and the bed comfortable, but not very of a 'hotel' quality. The swimming pool hasn't been open for some while, and breakfast is toast or dry cereal, and that's if it's open (times change on a day basis and may not even be available).

They could a renovation and some new paint and other aesthetic upgrades, but overall it was clean, felt safe, and we stayed during a busy festival weekend and the noise wasn't too bad. We walked to restaurants and the speedway. Took us 30 min. to get to the speedway.

Hotel is under renovation … AVOID FOR NOW

Hotel is under renovation and our room had missing closet door, curtains falling, bathroom wall attachments hanging exposing wall interiors full of mold. You could see the floors are new, the beds although small were very comfortable, very nice clean sheets and pillows and the ac worked great (they seem to be transitioning to a wall unit) ….. we woke up to the sound of a loud vacuum outside our door at 10am…. Complained with pictures as backup to the front desk, both last night upon arrival and this morning at check out, nobody cared !!!! I will be contacting management and or corporate as it was not acceptable to rent rooms under those conditions. Not even the poor toilet paper had a placement, it stood on top on the bathroom counter, doors and railings to the sliding door look rotten. Thankfully it was one night !!!!!
