Previously I left negative comments about the double rm mainly due to the noisy A/C (that kept us up all night), having no visible way to draw dark curtains, & the food that caused us being up all night.
Regardless, we elected to extended our stay by 2 night due to the cleanliness of the property, giving it one more chance. This time time we selected a twin bed room for handicaps - these are highlighted as ADA.
The A/C is 100% better. No issues at all.
While the dark curtains are drawable, the light curtains are missing. No big deal; the room overlooks the bar and gardens. Note: I am told that the previous room has the dark curtains, but they are hidden behind the dark fixed curtains.
While the ADA room has the fixtures for handicaps, it is equipped with the same bathtub width.
As to F&B the outfit is not part of the hotel. We complained to the restaurant manager. We spent about $240 on dinner; it all went into the toilette that night. Both of us had the same meal. The F&B manager asked what we expected. I told her that at our hotel (Viceroy Sugar Beach, which I built between1990-1992 and operated as Jalousie Plantation Resort & Spa until sold on 02/2005) we always made it right by either comping the guest or refunding the tab. No response to date.
In my view, F&B is a very large part of the stay experience. Bad food results in bad reviews.
The property is great. Dry cleaning available. No laundry service.
On a scale 1-10 a solid 9
