After staying at Riu Palace Peninsula for two consecutive years, we thought we’d try the adult’s only here. Place is new, very clean and well laid out. The buffet was a disappointment because it was smaller with fewer options. Overall, great place with staff that do a great job.

The best resort ever. As soon as you walk through the door you are greeted by amazing staff. Check in was fast and efficient. The welcome glass of champagne was wonderful. Our luggage arrived late and the staff informed us when it arrived. Our housekeeper adaleid was marvelous. It was my birthday and they out a towel cake with rose petals on the bed along with a bottle of champagne. The In room bar has top notch liquors , the refrigerator was well stocked every day. The entertainment was great. Had live music in the restaurant every night. The food was terrific. The waitstaff was So friendly and helpful. Large variety. The pools was wonderful and the bars was nice. The ground ms was well maintained and beautiful

Good value for the price

Beautiful hotel in a great location. The great: Our room (ocean view suite) was well appointed and comfortable. The food at the a la carte restaurants was exceptional, especially the asian restaurant and a real stand out was Krystal (thank you Samuel!). Overall the service was wonderful and attentive. We only attended one party (white party) and for a resort party it was amazing. The ok: The pools were nice. We liked the variety of fun pool, bar pool and quiet pool even though they were all very much next to one another. The resort was also very clean. The slight bummers: Small things - we asked for an extra blanket and never got one (it was pretty cold in the room even with the AC off). There was no way to use the mirror when drying one's hair (weird placement of the hair dryer). Getting back to the resort after the white party, the shuttle would have been a long wait (40 minutes) so we had to take taxi at our own cost. Overall, the quality is top notch for the price. Everything felt very well organized and well run, though we sometimes felt we would have loved this resort to have a bit more personality. Everything was a bit bland and standardized.

I never seen a staff bust there butts every part of the day. Its raining, they are outside pushing water off the walkways. Keeping drinks in your hands, removing empty plates, or cleaning your room twice a day. The only dislike was the sportsbar being a hike up 3 flights of stairs.

This resort is located directly on the beach! Many of the rooms have at least a partial ocean view. There are a few different pools to choose from. One designated for elite club members, one with a swim up bar, one that has various scheduled activities throughout the day, and one with a calm/quiet vibe. All of the staff at RIU Kukulkan were 10/10! The property was incredibly clean. There are a few restaurants to choose from for dinner, and one large buffet restaurant with tons of food options. The restaurants have limited alcohol/drink options, but there are plenty of bars to choose from and you can bring your own mixed drink to dinner. We stayed at the resort in January, so the weather was between 70-80° F, the nights can get chilly with the wind! The resort offered shows, games, and activities at night, very entertaining. This resort is mostly calm/relaxing, but if you are looking for a party vibe - they offer free transportation to the other RIU resorts for themed parties. The one downside is that you have to stay there for a few hours before the shuttle returns. We decided to head back to our own room early and the staff helped us navigate the public transportation system ($1 USD per person). Overall, we had a really good stay!

The reception was not accommodating. We requested 2 rooms with double beds but were only able to provide one room with double beds and one room with a king size bed the first night. The waiters by the pool and the lobby bar picked and chose who they wanted to wait on, so we had long wait times for drinks or else go to the bar ourselves. The buffet food was not good for the type of resort advertised.
