Great place to stay in Concepcion. Easy access to the highway that take you to Talcahuano, Penco and downtown. Having the casino and underground parking is a must. Breakfast is very good. I enjoyed the stay a lot.

The hotel was under renovation. No gym, no pool, only one elevator was functioning and there were materials and furniture everywhere. The check in was long and they made me wait until 3 pm to give me a room. Room service did not work. I left checked out 9/4 because it was very bad. I am waiting for a refund and apology.

I was left hanging on the phone for an hour at intervals talking to different people who did not speak english, called back many times, same story, all i wanted to do was to verify my booking so my wife could put expenses on my credit card, terrible service, no apology from them, never again

The staff makes up for the rest....
Hotel wifi is bad, we could never get connected. Carpets need to be changed or deep cleaned (they were decent but clearly worn). The complimentary coffee/tea downstairs near the reception was never hot and the water was never cold. Overall the hotel provided a pleasant atmosphere. We rented two rooms. The bedding and overall room was clean.

Sonesta -- outstanding
Had a week here. Amazing hotel, outstanding breakfasts (especially on Sunday) with lots of fruits (fresh and stewed), comfortable and clean -- excellent. Only detriment is that it is a little far from 'anywhere' -- there is a nice mall about 1 km away, though. VERY friendly and helpful staff and restaurant people.

The staff were friendly and accommodating. Room was clean and with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was very basic, and the whole lobby area and breakfast room were very cold, with guests eating breakfast with their coats on. Location was out in the sticks so there was nothing of note nearby apart from the University. It didn't bother us as we were staying for one night and our host took us out for dinner and took us aroud.

Really nice experiencie!
I had a real y nice time at this hotel. I just spend one night and the staff from the reception were great!. I am allergic to fether pillows and I asked to chnge the pillows for syntethic. I was dinning and people from housekeeping contact me and confirm they changed. Small details can change everything. Congratulations!

Important aspects need improvement
Sonesta Concepción -Talcahuano is a nice hotel in a good location, near Carriel Sur Airport, close to a large shopping center and with easy access to main roads to the cities of Concepción, Talcahuano and San Pedro de la Paz. It is also next to a gambling casino. In my opinion, based on events that took place in the early morning hours on the floor I was staying, security and control of access to the room floors is an important aspect that needs improvement. Additionally, details related to room cleaning and maintenance need attention from hotel staff. I had the opportunity to discuss these issues and my experiences with the hotel’s Quality Assurance Manager, who agreed with my appreciation. I believe the issues will be attended to, and necessary improvements will be implemented.
