The standard rooms don't have mini fridges or microwaves. Even most crappy hotels have those. The room was nice and clean with a great shower, but I won't be back until they put fridges and microwaves in every room.

Unbearable Smell and Poor Service During Basketbal
I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn in Columbia for my daughter's basketball trip, and it was a very disappointing experience. We arrived around 10:30 pm, eager to rest before her early game. However, upon reaching our floor, another guest warned us about a bad smell. When we opened our room, we were hit by an overpowering stench of sewage. I called the front desk right away, but the response was indifferent. The staff member barely acknowledged the issue and seemed annoyed by my call. I stressed the need to resolve it quickly due to my daughter's early game, but they made it clear it wasn’t a priority. We were told maintenance would arrive within 30 minutes, so we left the room to wait. When we returned, the smell was still there. I called again, only to receive the same dismissive response. Eventually, maintenance arrived, sprayed something into the vents, and left, but the odor lingered throughout the night. By morning, it had mostly dissipated, but the whole ordeal was handled very poorly by management. I stay in Columbia twice a week, but after this experience, I will never return to this hotel.

There is no fridge or microwave unless you upgrade your room and at the price point you’re paying to stay there…that’s ridiculous. Breakfast was lackluster (the pancake machine was broken and everything else was eh), the AC never reached what I set it at, the bathroom door squeaked loudly everytime someone opened or closed it, the light in the bathroom flickered, the front desk charged me early and overdrew my account on a “pay later” reservation that I planned to PAY LATER…at the property with a different card. All around I wouldn’t come back, but if you’re looking for a clean place to stay and don’t mind paying an arm and a leg for that amenity alone…then yeah, good place to stay.

Not worth the price
Not worth the price. You are paying double the amount of other local hotels for less amenities. Beds are very hard. A/c dosnt go before 76. Tv dosnt have signal. No microwave or fridge in rooms unless you spent even more money for a "suite" hot tub jets hardly work. Pool was clean,just very cold

Tv never worked. Breakfast was ok but I’ve had better at other holiday inns. Pancake maker broke twice while making my breakfast. Seating was inconvenient. I don’t think the staff cared very much about the problems I had. Besides being in a nice part of town I don’t plan on staying here again.

To raise the average price to every room on game day, parents weekends, Mother/Fathers weekend is just sad. People are coming to see their family in bunches… and are getting robbed. Nice place to stay but crazy how the price changes on family friendly weekends?! Price gouging??
