Unfortunately only stayed one night , it was a mile from Houchins where we attended a wedding.
We stayed in Maldon room , so gorgeous and comfy , we had breakfast provided in our room , everything has been thought of and attention to detail was second to none !
Very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and well presented room.
Breakfast is just items supplied in the room, but they have made the very best of the situation. A full breakfast would have earned a top score.
We were only there for 2 nights but everywhere was really clean and fresh. We were made very welcome and all staff were very friendly and helpful.
The garden/outside seating area was also well kept. It is obviously a locals pub and everyone we spoke to was very friendly.
We stayed in the Dedham room which was beautiful, spacious and comfortable.
The room was spotless and the breakfast basket ideal. Thank you to Mel for a warm welcome and completely relaxed stay.
Terrific stay, lovely room with a fantastic view from patio.
Great breakfast baskets which included all sort of quality goodies.
Only negative was no food available in the evening midweek.
Overall fantastic place to stay.
Very spacious, quirky room in this charming old pub. Very well looked after & comfortable.
Lady behind the bar was extremely cheerful & helpful when I checked in.
Defo recommend
Ghostly goings on, locking the door with no key meant I had to change rooms. Which was a real shame as the room looked amazing. New room still very good. Team friendly, no food being served so had to do a quick walk into the town, but plenty of choices available so it wasn’t an issue. Breakfast basket is ok but my preference is for some sort of cooked breakfast but again not a deal breaker.
Quite a disappointing stay sadly. Nice character Inn but was told on arrival that they are not serving any food. I got 2 x emails advising there is karaoke on a Thursday night but they couldn’t advise that the restaurant was closed. The bedroom was lovely and I was aware of the breakfast hamper which was also good. However, the bathroom was the coldest room I have ever been in. There are 2 x radiators but none were working and I could literally see my breath. If my wife had been staying we would have left and asked for our money back it was that cold. The shower gel was jelly like and ice cold and I resorted to brushing my teeth standing in the bedroom. I expected it at night as quite a lot of places automatically reduce some heating areas overnight (hence why I didn’t move or leave) but it didn’t change in the morning. Please check before booking because it otherwise would have been quite nice (in spite of having to go back out to eat elsewhere).
